hmmmm..upon inspection ...exhaust fumes seemed to smell wierd....

FECKIN po..(i think) had been running on veg mix..not the engine po, but car..

so tank drained, new filters dumped..but ip still leaking like a leaky thing..appears to be coming from timing retard lever (light load lever)

anyway...from this..

TO THIS..poooh..pump rebuild time..

though did sound awesome before pulling manifold and ip..

ordering gaskets from states, and ip rebuild from kent..THOUGH in two minds ...can buy all seals etc on net....but then again...

clutch dont work..not enough throw on slave,so on hunt for feckin large dia master and small dia slave that will fit..wish me luck.already running 3/4 bore master..(oe is 5/8)..oe slave is 7/8

dont blame ya, bit fecked off myself when its two steps back, got the drivers door painted and the 2 part seals back on but the front one is perished and looks ****ter than I like and the door has got a few marks already and its only been on 3 weeks.

Just think of what it will be like when it's finished, thats what is keeping me going. I am dreading my engine swap, mice have been eating the loom, the more I look the more I find

If you want to bitch about things keep it in 'anything goes'. We're here to see zen do his project not hear about your view on his personal life.

So kindly go away :D

Yep! Men like Zen built the modern world, wimmin like sticking the washing in the machine and slamming the door moaning about doing all the housework forgetting how the electricity, water and everything else got there - men!

The green-eyed troll's gone quiet.

Clothes, food etc for kids I understand, but spending money for holiday FFS? Holidays are a luxury not a right so if missinlink chooses to go on holiday then perhaps she should first ensure she has the funds?

Now, more importantly... Where's this engine video? :D

:beer2:

well waiting for ip pump now...from states...its 1/3 price than from here..

lots of other stuff done...rear seat mounts, sod off clutch m/c installed..ie 7/8 bore

scuttle panel repaired and painted...etc

One holiday or spending time with your dad in a unique car that he rebuilt and you'll have fun in for years and memories for life.

No brainer for any kid when they look back.

Although I reckon I could sue my old man for those school runs in the boot box of a Lotus 7 :)

Too bloody right, not to mention the number of skills the offspring will learn from a practical parent. The number of morons about now who can't wire a bloody plug! When you've fixed the misses's car for the umpteenth time saving her thousands of pounds in garage bills - she'll still moan about the state of your hands!

My Dad was an engineer - I rebuilt my first engine aged 13 - the amount of money his skills passed on to me must have saved me is immense, I replumbed and rewired my own house, rebuilt the extension, sorted out the dodgy drains, fitted new windows - kids today think they are clever because they know the comings and goings of some thick "celeb" and can say "whatever" when presented with a question their feeble brains are unable to process! Keep going Zen, you are a dying breed - a proper, useful man - even though I don't like the shade of red you picked (too red!) - (getting in touch with my feminine side there.) :D

+1 to previous 2 quotes.

I hope I can provide my son with life skills and hands on experience, which I hope will also teach common sense and respect for things, which seams to be lacking a bit today, even my generation are lacking in them.

+3 to the above....

My next move is onto a Barge, myself and my girlfriend have thought about it for a while now, and now we are thinking of starting popping out the sprogs, we would love for them to learn skills like maintaining the engine, working on the boat, repairs, nature, self reliance etc...rather than sitting in front of a computer/xbox/ps3 or the like endlessly...but to be able to live life on their wits and knowledge without fear of the outside world but to get stuck in and muck out!
