Folks, as 4x4.wales has mentioned, there is a narrow gateway between two stone walls along the upper section of the trail. There are also two pedestrian type gates at the Dolwyddelan side of the route, one is at the upper section of the moorland as you exit the forest if heading North, the other is behind a house just before you reach a tarred road near High Street. There is no way you will get a 4x4 through any of these gateways.

I'm not being difficult. As a fellow green laner I'm just curious to know how you guys intended to make it all the way across this track and avoid these obstacles.

then it becomes a one way and turn around, do we know if the obstructions are legal? as for the route we were running exactly to the orpa dots on my 25k map, unlike the bikes

I agree with you stenova none of the trf bike's we saw stuck to the lane (plus the 8 bikes i,ve had to recover from there over the summer were all off piste but apparently i'm the bad guy)

I know this thread is a bit old now but I went up the lane yesterday. I got up the hill the other side where it opens out of the woods to the moor land and couldn't really see a route from there onwards. Managed to get that far without too much hassle in my lifted Disco 1 on special tracks.
