Im in cardiff too, member of south wales land rover club as well. couple of us have v8's
My knowledge of them could be written on the dry bit of a disco carpet, but its a learning curve mate! anyway, if you do have a 3.5, or 3.9 with a 14cux ecu then gimme a shout, Ive got a ecu reader that will help when its running or not as the case maybe!!

Only reason I mentioned the club is there is some peeps there that are local to us and have the tools, facilities to give you a hand. mate. me included.

Good luck with the engine search.

well, I'm more of a mongrel, southampton born, redditch grown up, 10 yrs army, now live cardiff, they needed some English meat........

Engine number:
10A2526

Off Rover engine number detail: 10A00001A. BbSD1 manual 9.35:1cr. 1976-1987

I think this is the right one.

Your verdict gentleman...

Yep, same engine as mine. Although mine has the later rocker covers on but seeing as it is a 10A46382 it will be a later engine.

Next task, take off your rocker covers and find the casting number for the heads, it is in between the two valves somewhere. Will be 3 letters then 4 numbers.

Find out what that is, because if its got the old heads you really want the new heads if you're gonna strip it down.

They are not dear but are much improved!
