Think I found a Unicorn Yesterday !
Collected a brand new unused 300tdi Bulkhead today, Just waiting for the chassis order to be sorted Monday and things should start moving.

You jammy person :D that is quite a find - tis short of some zinc tho :D:D

Presume you will be correcting that ??!?:)

Yes could not believe it myself, A bloke flogging a rolling chassis on *bay had it leaning on the Engine so asked if it was for sale. But no zinc is going on the bulkhead, It will be prepped painted and the cavity wax injected, Not Knocking Zinc but I don't like the paint finish over it.

You just need to spend a little time putting a few layers of primer on the surfaces that show, rubbing down in between coats. Mine's pretty much mirror flat.Did the same with the tub cappings.

Agree with this - as with most things paint related, its the prep, ( and the products used ) that determine the outcome, more than the top coat.

OP:- I do know what you mean, but IMHO reconsider the zinc - simply because a 90 with a galv chassis AND bulkhead will more or less last for ever.

Ring all the landy places you know to see if they have any chassis for sale we did for our 90 and we got a brand new Richards chassis from a landy place in yorks can't remember the name but we got it for £300 cheaper than Richards was selling them for, Richards then had a 10 week waiting time its 15 weeks now we collected it our self's with a big van, the 2a chassis we bought from Richards we was quoted 10 weeks but ended up waiting 15 weeks for it and collected it 4 weeks ago :)

Spent the afternoon converting a TDCI seatbox to 200tdi , Just needs riveting and painting.

Richards Chassis on order ! I've got at least 10 weeks to get the Axles of a discovery 300tdi and clean check and paint them

Looking good. Unless the track rod ends are perfect, now's the time to change them. Same with the swivel pins and bearings if you have the time.

yes the track rod ends will be replaced, new bearings have been fitted, drivers swivel ball has some pitting but it is not a problem, new drive shaft oil seals fitted.

Looking good, you're making me feel useless. I have list of jobs to do but mine has been sat in the garage for over a month whilst I try and find the time!

Good job it's for the wife, as the lounge has the new front wings, two steel CL/EW doors, puma bonnet and cleaned and refinished dash.
