Hi Guys
Just called the garage to get an update ....
"Can't find anything wrong with the car Sir"
They checked the VCU and said it was fine - The mechanic explained that in order for the rear wheel's to turn, BOTH rear wheels must be raised. This sort of makes sense really, as my understanding of rear diff's is that when you turn one rear wheel the other wheel would rotate in the opposite direction (I think !?). If this is correct, having one of the wheels on the ground would prevent the other turning. They put the car on a lift and confirmed that all wheels turned fine !
The dragging feeling when reversing on lock was described as normal for a Freelander.
Ref the clunk going from 1st to 2nd gear, they guy said he was unable to find anything wrong and although he admitted there was a slight clunk, said that this was nothing more than he'd expect on a 4x4.
Hopefully nothing to worry about then ...... I hope !!
