Don't want to be pedantic but toads don't hop they crawl, frogs hop, toads crawl, unless of course the frog is giving a toad a piggyback! But I haven't ever come across this. I suppose if the dog has inadvertently bitten one of the toads legs off then it's resulting crawl may look a little like a hop, but not a hop like a frogs hop more of a half hearted hop followed by a flop, I suppose we could make up a word for the crawling hopping motion made by toads after you have let your big nasty gun dogs eat a toads leg. How about "crop" . Nah it's been used before and sounds too vigorous. How about "floawlop", aye that'll do. Now if you insist on continuing this barbaric act of feeding live toads to your dogs and taking the toad off the dog after they have eaten a leg just to watch the toad floawlop away in abject misery, I shall feel it my civic duty to call you names. I just wanted to clear that up thank you.
