Hi, I bought a new Freelander 2 GS TD4 Manual 2011 MY before xmas . Im now 1200 miles in and have started looking at the fuel economy. The book says a combined figure of 45.6 mpg, but im actually getting approx 35 mpg which is quite disappointing.
Is anyone else getting disappointing figures from this new supposedly more efficient model ? Just wondering if there is actually a fault somewhere.
Admittedly it does have a full spare and roof rails fitted, but I cant see that they should make that much difference. I've also not been filling the tank over half way in order to keep the weight down. And in terms of my driving style / terrain my last car was getting 36 MPG combined as opposed to a book figure of 39.8.
