AUTOEMOTIONAL

Hiya folks, got a 2000 plate 4.6 Autobiography Range last week and had to buy a matching 99 plate Disco too! :D BUT, a few niggles, the passenger side electric seat button tilts the backrest and seat but will not move backwards and forwards. There was one cable loose underneath pictured (sorry for the quality) but I could not find anywhere for it to plug into. Any suggestions?

look under the seat ... see C977(black female plug) from the bottom of pic...that's the forward/rearward motor....it seems like yours.

Ahh thanks but I think that orange tipped plug is already plugged in. Mine is about an inch by half and inch. Is C977 is the backward forward motor and mine is plugged in then A: what is the spare lead i have for heating or memory perhaps and B: what could cause the seat to be inop forward backward, the switch??

Then i dunno what that plug is for.... inop. of the seat might be caused by the switch or the motor.... or some wiring issue, if u want to DIY u must know to read and follow the diagram(it's in RAVE) then make measurements to see where the fault is.

Emm swapped the switches round and they are all ok and working when i press bw/fw i can hear the motor engaging actually BUt no acvtual movement

"The motor drives a gear wheel along a gear rack connected to the seat base."... so if the motor works IMO there is something wrong with the mechanics... though i've never had this issue myself
