Hi all, willing to pay if some one had a Nanacom unit and is willing to turn off the imob?

The story, I started out the week with a tailgate that will not open. The central locking (via fob) has always been hit and miss but it has been locking and unlocking fine, there is a new battery in the fox.

Car started and was used this morning. After looking to see why the tailgate wont open (and getting it open via the boot) its now decided that the central locking wont work via the remote, still works via the door and flashes the hazards (although no bleep like it did before)

Came to start it an I turn the key I get this:


I have been in contact with landrover to get the EKA code to see if that helps....

Does the LED flash on the FOB when you press the buttons? If not the battery may be flat. Check also that the shutter in the ignition barrel is operating.

Hello Datatek, thanks for taking time to reply, the lights flash, new battery in it a few weeks back, I have noted that the red light flashes as soon as I put it in to the ignition, it didn't do that before.
 
Hi Flatman . details of vehicle please ??? year etc etc ,, I presume its a diesel as it has preheat on display ?? is battery fully charged ?? is fob batteries ok ??? have you had battery off at all ?? finally does door switch have "clicking up/down whilst driving ??
sounds to me as " lost sync " so you can "re-sync by way of door or ignition as per handbook , patience needed and take your time , ignore eas manual !!!!! ,,,, also sounds as if cdl switch is sticking in door pack but we go thru process of elimination fist , so answer questions above & we move on , cheers Mozz
 
Mozz is the genius when it comes to booting these things back to life....

In your video, I notice the red led in the fob flashing at a constant rate and not stopping.....the 'easy-sync' of the fob in the ignition switch should only take a couple of seconds and as such the fob led should stop flashing once it has re-synced the key.....odd yours doesn't!

So it is a later model with easy sync for the FOB.
EAS Manual has nothing to do with locking/Unlocking or starting but may indicate that the starter battery voltage is low.

Battery is fully charged, fired up quickly this morning
Fob battery is good, was replaced as a I should do that before its an issue about 3 weeks ago
I have not had the battery removed although I did remove fuse 15 to check it was working
Door has no clicking up or down when driving.

I cannot see the VID, but constant flashing of the FOB sounds like the FOB has failed. Stuck button maybe.

The fob ONLY flashes when in the ignition with no buttons pressed, it didn't do this before this issue, the lights flash as they have always done when pressing the buttons, they do not flash when no buttons are pressed, and when its not in the ignition
 
I have the owner information and service record, that's it. I have had a read though it and apart from stamps and the original address of the chap who had the car, no other information jumped out
I do not have rave, im to old for dancing :p

The FOB LED flashes in response to the passive coil round the ignition barrel, this should be very brief.
Is the carpet wet in the drivers foot well? Because it seems that something is happening with the BECM that is not right.

RAVE is the workshop manual and i believe it can be downloaded form the technical section at the top.
 
Datatek, There has been water ingress in the past to the footwell, I was pretty sure I had it sorted but it has got wet down there.
Then I would be looking for corroded connectors and possibly condensation inside the BECM.
If wet, the BECM can be dried out in a warm airing cupboard, no guarantee that it will recover though.
Is the wet rain water or coolant from leaking O rings? Coolant is worse.
 
I was missing some trim around the windscreen which I resolved and then sealed up. So its wet wet, or water wet. So, pull out the BECM, dry, pray?

First disconnect the battery, then start with the connectors. Dry them out, a hair dryer can be used with care on a low heat setting, look for corrosion, use a good contact cleaner if needed NOT WD40.
In future, always run with the aircon on if fitted, electronics last a lot longer in a dry atmosphere
