Not too sure as of yet mate, mum got a phonecall from the mechanic at LR saying that it might not be worthwhile putting back on the road due to the cost of the work he's going to have to do to make the new engine fit as well as fixing the buggered wiring in the front

Going to see him tomorrow to discuss my options but from the looks of things its going to be a breaking :Cry: I'm creating an ebay add at the moment and I've worked out that if all goes well with breaking it I might be able to just about break even which would allow me to have plenty of money to tune my 300tdi disco or buy a few new guns :D

But from what I can gather it looks like the end of the line for this old warhorse :violin: if so there will be an abundance of parts available both new and used

a mechanic at land rover ? - is this a series vehicle ?

Its not LR themselves its the local specialist but yes its the series 3, the mechanics been working on them for 34 plus years so he knows his stuff and BB no its a V8 for V8, both are 3.5

:eek: Ah no, you can't give up so easy, the grease monkey has no feeling for the old beast, I can tell from here! How much work is involved in stuffing a V8 in where a V8 already resides:confused: I personally would go round, give him a slap for his heathen attitude, drag the remains home, and do some head scratching, and then get the grinder out :D

I would love to bring it home but I don't have the tools required nor the space anymore as I've had to give the garden back :( it was part of the reason for sending it to them

I will see what he says before making my final decision though

:( Where there's a will, there's way. If I was'nt so far away, I'd give you a hand.:( Be a shame to see another series bite the dust.

If I could I'd trailer it up to Edinburgh to store in my aunts or possibly grandparents garage as its not used and the latter is rarely used and then work on it through next summer to get it fully roadworthy

:D Now, that's the spirit !!!!! :D:cool:

It is but I cant do it :Cry:

Edit;

Well I've put it up for sale as a breaker to gauge interest within the ebay community, obviously I shall pull it off there in a split second if the meeting tomorrow isn't as bad as I'm dreading it to be

Well the engine doesn't fit the gearbox so I'm going to try for a full refund for that as I should be entitled to one considering the seller said it would fit

And as to the rest I'm going to break it for parts now seeing as I've got two engines that are useless to me and a shell thats not worth keeping
