After buying my 110 a few months ago with no security my nights sleep has been shortened worrying about theft but will sleep better now, won't list what I've done but hoping all the ££££ spent will keep the trusty old beast in my hands, ahhhhhh sleeeeeeep :)

Mine has a disclock which was its only security but noticed on the back of the steering wheel the bolts which hold it on so not much use, purely a deterrent to the local scum.
Ok, let's just say it has a very good alarm fitted with immobiliser, tilt sensors, close proximity warnings, fuel cut off valve to be added, siren wouldn't be found easy if trying to access engine bay and close proximity would trigger, full central locking fitted at the same time, anti hijack system and remote start.
It's a rolling project and I've spent a lot on it so far so this hopefully ensures it stays in my hands so future plans including the chassis, new doors and respray don't go to waste.
It's a 93 L plate so plenty to do but wanted one since leaving the forces and will never be sold, it's great.
 
As many have said before if they really want it you can't stop them. But you can try and put them off and slow them down. And if the worst does happen at least you will feel you did as much as practical.

I hope it stays yours for many year ;)

Yes unfortunately that is the case but I'm much happier now than I was with no security whatsoever and sleep easier :)
 
Sadly you can still drive it, even with a pedal lock on.. Towing is even easier.

Pedal, steering and gear stick is the full Monty of cover. Each on their own are pretty much useless..

My thought was what if the pedal lock was adapted so that it lightly applied the brakes at the same time or would it fnuck up seals being under pressure ??

Can you? How's that then? With the one I had there was no way of using any pedal without pressing them all...

bollocks can you please explain how you use the clutch brakes and accelerator when theres a fooking great big steel plate bolted over them
 
All you can do is slow thieves down and hopefully put off the would be opportunist.

Simple. You'll find the scallywags will either saw the pedal arms to get the lock off, and drive it on the stubs. Or they'll drive it away with the lock in place, usually on idle or by connecting a hand-pull wire to the throttle under the bonnet.. Changing gear without the clutch is simple, and braking with the handbrake is also easy but harmful. Mind you, scallys don't usuaily worry about the damage they cause. Or they just tow it away.

Like I said, one type of lock in isolation is easily overcome. Check Rattys security poll thread for more info.
