Out of Australia?......that is interesting, whom is supplying your cam and lifters, and what are you fitting, how wild or mild I mean.
I got mine from camtech in Sydney, and gone for the more torque at the lower rpm for my 3,5. Hope I made a good choice, only time will tel.

yeah thats the place its the camtech one with 0.27'' lift and a lope at idle :D

if your aussie you will know the engine I am doing which is a 4.5 out of a p76 :D

That is exactly the one I got myself, hope it is what I imagine it to be. Yours would most probably run before mine, I am going quite slow.

im still waiting for mine lol, been about 8 or 9 weeks lol

he seems to be the only place selling good p76 lifters too

That is amazing, is there a specific brand he sells, and that seems a bit long waiting for your cam, whom is helping you...Melcolm, he is fantastic.

Finally finally today removed the bolt holding my drivers side calliper on, got a bolt extractor in, that sheared, so lots more head scratching then tried hammering sockets on, no movement! Then hammer and chisel, same again no result, so made some edges on the head then wacked a AF socket on and finally it came out!! pics to follow of how fudged the bolt it

Got a question for all you guys, rear oil seal? how do i get the allen key bolts out the back of the crank? Some one has suggested to me to put the crank back in the block, then change rear oil seal. Whats the ways you have done this?

Any advice on the main bearings would be much appreciated

Nothing to worry on the main bearings.
Why would the polo eat the head gasket, did you have some cooling concerns?

Polo, well the temp gauge is very random goes up and down from cold to hot when driving but never overheating as far as i know. Then other day light came on to say water was low so toped it up, put a fairbit in around a litre, and oil needed filling up as was bellow minimum and i have filled oil around 400-500 miles ago, so its defiantly on its last legs, oh and it doesn't leak oil or water underneath.

So need my v8 back together asap! haha

If you buy the Mark Evans DVD for a 4X4 is born it shows yu how to set up the cam shaft / valve timing :D:D. Tis going well there Ben
