Re the quality of parts from Paddocks - yes, sometimes the things I've ordered are Britpart or similar, but since this thread started I've been making a mental note of what I recieved and here are a couple of examples:

1. New vacuum pump - not Britpart but Wabco OE for only £85+vat;

2. New clutch master cylinder - Delphi, OE supplier, cant remember the exact price but abot £27+vat.

I like Paddocks, they've always been very fair with me and I love their european delivery - quick and CHEAP !!!

never had any problems with paddocks spares. just dont go there on a sat morning cause the parts dept is full of bl00dy land rover owners getting parts for the weekend repair jobs!!:p:p

tell me about it!! my youngest daughter now refuse's to come with me after spending 45 mins stood in there one saturday morning. the quality of some of there stuff is ****e, but never had a problem with the service but i do go in person and buy over the counter so can't comment on delivery, refunds and after sales

On around my 7th or 8th phone call now, each time "yes money will be returned blah blah blah" gues what still no money.

This time apparently they need a manager to refund my money and hes on holiday. . . .

I think there service is crap, I think now I will use main dealer, at least your being robbed up front price wise!

I've been following this thread and to be honest I've never used paddocks...
My opinion is a company who provides a service should do it always in the same manner and different cases where people had problems should never happen...

it's like buying off eBay.. would you buy something off a seller with 50% feedback?
I wouldnt...

it seems a lot of people like paddocks but have a problem with the brit part stuff, paddocks is a supplier of cheap parts for land rovers, brit part is just a company that supplies motor factors with after market parts cheaply.
paddocks buy cheap parts from brit part to supply to land rover owners as cheaply as possable.
it is unfair to slate paddocks for using a company like brit part, its a bit like saying tescos is crap cos they sell cheap beans that taste like dog sh*t.
if you dont like paddock/ brit part then you can always go to a land rover dealership and buy genuine land rover parts (which by the way will some times supply brit part products) im sure they will be very helpful !

personally i use paddocks quite a bit and the guys behind the counter are very helpfull and knowlegable about the different land rovers and parts. show me a company that has NEVER given poor service to a customer, there wont be any.
paddocks may not be perfect but its cheap and helpfull to the best of their knowlege. when your selling hundreds of different land rover parts every day im sure there will be some mistakes, not every one will give the right parts description or part numbers or it maybe parts that are fitted to your land rover are not what should be fitted so it is going to be very hard for some one to get things right every time having to use what knowlege they have of said parts to supply what they believe should be the correct parts.
i think it is very unfair to hammer down a company just because of a problem when dealing with them.

just used MM 4x4, you know the yellowey advert in the mags.
Very impressed, great service, very polite etc etc. Paddocks didnt have a de-cat pipe these did, will be using them again in the future. Still like Paddocks mind.

used paddocks on and off for years mustve always caught them on a good day helpfull and reliable every time

You think its unfair to hammer a company because they wont return 60quid? I dont, thats a fair ammount of money to me at the moment, but I guess thats why they are keeping it!
And I have said nothing about quality, im totally aware that you get what you pay for!

Guess what still no return.

Dont use paddocks!

I have been having stuff sent out to France from paddocks for nearly 5 years, yeh the realy cheap stuff is crap, so you ask for tinkens bearings or Hardy Spicer UJ's instead for a few snakes more! 99% of the few problems I have had have been due to the transporter/post and have always been sorted one way or another.

i have used paddocks for the past 10 years and never had a prob buying parts for several series models and a couple of discos, i do mail order with them and if i need something right away or buying something heavy i go and get it and its a 90 mile round trip for me, in fact i was only there yesterday with my mate buying a dog guard for his disco, and its a nice ride out aswell depending where you come from.

Hmmmmm........Having read all your posts all i would say is.....we seem to want the cheapest part, delivered instantly to the moon at a cost of pence, and then feel let down when the shop doesn't deliver. Unfortunately some of them will tell you anything to get your custom and money. I personally like to be face to face with my parts supplier, and always research the price before i go to the shop.

I try to fetch everything because if i fetch it, i'm not let down when the parcel company sends it to Lithuania insted of Stroud.........one of the couriers lost an entire engine!!

Use them once, trust them and if they let you down, put it to experience and go elsewhere.

One very famous parts shop told me that a radiator was no longer manufactured for my Range Rover classic.........i know who that chap was and if he answers the phone i ring back later.......annoying but easier than letting him mess me around.

Nick (who is still very chuffed with his new toy).

Hello,

I've only used them once (until now).
And yes, you pay what you get, and get what you pay for.
Shipment is not always in the hands of the supplier, they shouldn't be put down just because of that.

I did have a problem with the package send in 2 parts, but the invoice was on the first package (the first package to arrive). Not stating there was a second package.
When I mailed them (calling from Belgium would be expensive), no answer.
When the day after, I resend a mail to tell them I received the second package, no response either.
But I've had that "slow email-response" with multiple UK-companies in the past.
Don't know if this is something typical UK or not...maybe I'm more used to mailing as my pc is turned on 12-16 hours a day.

I would use them again.

Regards, Koen

Well Ive read all the previous post and I can only say I deal with Paddocks
on almost a weekly basis(2series& a disco) for the last 6 or 7 years
with NO!! problems whatsoever.I will continue to use them rather
than more local factors. Stick with who you know
cheers Stuart:):D:blabla::blabla::blabla::blabla:

Kinell, will the bloody noobies stop dragging up ancient threads. :frusty: :frusty: :monitor_punch:

Be fair though....I'd been reading through the thread for quite a long time before I realised it was dated May 2009 not May 2010

And as someone else suggested, as everyone gets slagged off for not using search, you can't complain when old threads get accidentally dragged up.
