Thanks for the link to the lights guys. Steve, don't forget to post some pics of the windows when they're finished.

Fitted the rear screen yesterday.

Then today while the spare wheel was off to do the rear screen, I also removed the carrier as there was some cracks that needed welding up, (also got it out the way for the window fitting)

Well welded the cracks and around the studs my weldings not the prettiest but it was getting hot all the way through so not it was a strong weld, put some strenghing bits in too, could have thought about it a bit more and done it different but wanted to get it back on at the weekend.

its now mid way through paint in the garage.

There some excellent mod's, really great. I take it you can remove the light fitting and fit the bike rack fitting. The reason I braced mine is because I may need a bike rack in the furture and if it cracked with just the weight of the wheel I thought it may not last with bikes too.

Yes you can swap them over - the wiring all has waterproof clips.

I've lost the wiper since then as I've fitted bigger tyres and lifted the rear wheel holder. There's no need to wipe the window as the camera switches on with the ignition (or reverse or permanent via 3 way switch) so the screen acts as a rear view mirror. So much better than trying to see out of the window of a 4" lifted Disco with a 35" spare, dog rack with high lift and tinted windows. I see if I can grab a photo later. :)

Thats impressive whered you get that?

Thank you. I made it from a standard wheel holder and various bits of plate. The radius of the curved plate at the top matches the inner radius of the wheel so once you've lifted the wheel it will slide into place. Two of the wheel nuts are on fake studs.

The light in the centre (took ages to find one the right width, depth, etc) swaps with the bike rack. Have a look in the link above. :)

Very impressed by your work, looks like a very clean D1 with some great mods just from where I can see, do you have a build thread any where?

Here's my little pudding, obviously well out of view via the rear view mirror.

Got my lights wired up after a lot of messing around with some water proof connectors that I really wasn't getting on with.

good timing with the iphone camera to get the indicators lite I'd say. extra side lights should of been there from the start, the D2 is much easier to see in bad weather.

also just had time to fit my work lights to the rear.

may paint the brackets black in time.

Also I have made a second battery tray to fit under the bonnet just painting it and got a matching spare but looking out for another gg AT2 for it.
