That still looks better than one of my rearsprogress was made tonight, got the drivers side window functioning fully again, before it would just slide down and wouldn't stay up, in the end it probably would have been quicker to just change the whole door. U'll probably see that on window that there is overspray, there was and it wasn't me whoever had it before did it.

Scooped it out the bottom of the door
Could you improvise something at the bottom of the recess the light fits into? With a screw that would adjust the height of the beam?
Not my strong point as I've got the old round lights, so hopefully another Disco owner can offer some more advice!
Yes I did think that, at the moment I think I'm just going to make some tabs that I can bolt them onto and adjust them as I need.
I prefer the facelift lights tooThey do look nice, however I think I prefer the newer look, however I don't want to annoy evreyone on the forum
Afraid I'm not much use - I'm Warwickshire based. There's a "Regional Landyzoners" section you could post in looking for somewhere.Anyone know any good 'landrover' test centers in the Wiltshire area?

Epoxy primer is a good way of sealing things, like welds, as it creates a non porous layer that you can then paint over with whatever is best for the area you've welded.Ordered a whole load of welding bits and bobs today ready for the next stage of sorting out some of the rusty bits.
I seem to remember reading somewhere that people seal up the welds with stuff afterwards, is it true if so what stuff is it?

I'm not an expert, but as I understand it, red oxide will give you a fair rust protection - it's designed to inhibit the chemical process of rusting. It's basically a normal paint, so it might fill some of the tiny holes in the welds, but it won't create a non-porous finish like epoxy.I bought some red oxide primer, will that do a similar thing or not?
