As to the headlight situ, I've already bought new indicaters for the facelift model so will go with that, however I may consider reverting it to original one day, the main focus is getting it through its MOT which is at the end of December.

I could be wrong here, but I think 200 headlamps were bloody expensive compared to 300 ones?

As for the handbrake its only a drum brake., if you do fix it by design they have lods of slack, so dont try and get the 2 clicks and its on adjustment or you will get loads of transmission shunt.

That's one reason to keep the 300 lights then
Ok

New, they probably were a lot more expensive, but you can have a pair of 200tdi ones on eBay for thirty quid. Find a good breakers and you'll find everything for thirty quid. The new fuel tank is the only thing I've paid more than that for, and a whole interior for £100 this week.

Ok Will check it, are the 200tdi lights the ones with plastic surrounds?

I've had a few hours of treating surface rust this last week, trying to stop it eating my floors, arches, doors...

Great looking project! You don’t see many two door disco 1’s now so it’s good to see another being preserved but still working. I had a disco 1 300Tdi two door and was an LSR for the DOC for quite a few years. Sadly, my disco succumbed to the rust bug and a couple of years after I sold it, I found it being broken up on eBay... :(:(

They do look nice, however I think I prefer the newer look, however I don't want to annoy evreyone on the forum

Hope it's just surface however the right hand side looks like the previous owner did the cover and forget approach

progress was made tonight, got the drivers side window functioning fully again, before it would just slide down and wouldn't stay up, in the end it probably would have been quicker to just change the whole door. U'll probably see that on window that there is overspray, there was and it wasn't me whoever had it before did it.
