Hi, finally purchased my first Landy in the form of a 1992 200tdi. Bought it as a off road vehicle so I wasnt to fussed about it being a bit rough. Hasn't got very much mot left on it but it does have a hell of a lot of work to do to it to get it through its mot. Just to for-warn, I'm probably going to be asking a few questions on this thread.

It's actually in not to bad nic to be honest start's on the first crank everytime, runs very smoothly. Just needs some work to get it through its MOT.
I've started work on it now, trying to get the driver's side window to go up and down smoothly, I have a second door so am trying to salvage from that at the moment.

This arrived yesterday which im hoping will help a bit.

Also need to find out what these fuses are and try and get them sorted, would appreciate some help on that if anyone has a diagram.

You could be right, trying to figure out what the previous owner has done
If you were aiming to make it concourse (which I'm certainly not with my Rover, and I guess you're probably not given it's doing some work in the past picture), I think you'd be looking at swapping the grill, lights and indicators back. Might not be a bad idea as it'd tidy the front end up quite a lot.

I might be wrong, but are the headlights not wrong for a 92? They look like the facelift ones that accompanied the 300TDI swap.

Yup.

sometimes you discover at awkward moments and the previous 'improvements' sometimes are not:rolleyes:

put proper 200 type headlights / surrounds & indicators with grille on and it'll look far nicer:cool:

also, 200 / 3 door Disco's are getting rarer and increasing in value;)

Rich. (have a pair of 200tdi 3 door Disco's:))

Very subjective, but I far prefer the look of the 200TDI front end to the facelift.

Putting it back to original would definitely increase the value

The things that need to be fixed that I know of at the moment,

Just had a thought on your list: is the handbrake inoperable, or does she just have a bit of movement when you've put the handbrake on, but generally stay where you've left her?
If you're used to cars with decent handbrakes, you could spend a lifetime trying to adjust what by old Landie standards is a pretty damn good handbrake.
A sympathetic MOT tester is a great find if there's one near you.

It's completely inoperable, it doesn't stay up at all and seems disconnect from the brake shoes themselves, yet to invest that
