if you want best mud performance dont go for dakar, insa turbo special track (or similar) has allot bigger cuts which is better in the boggy stuf, allot of "mud" tyres dont come close the the special track in the mud

Malatiste kaiman are copy's of insa special track which are copies of simex, very good off road tyres IMO but a lot of road noise but I wouldn't change em,good thing about kaimans over insa etc is they have a lot more sidewall lugs/protection.
I think tyres direct do a modular wheel and tyre package for about £130 delivered.

Haha they were thiiiiis big Not!

You will be lucky to get 33 inch from a stated 35 inch tyre that's why it's all bollix!!

yeah my 33 maxxis stand at around 32 inch at best and theyre a dedicated casing (not a remould)

i had looked at malatesta kaiman 33x12.5x15 because stupidly i want to keep to 12.5 if i upgrade to an extreme tyre.

has anyone ever seen the kaiman 33x12.5 in the flesh btw? want to get an idea of the girth :)

Girth is everything.

Only 72% height bloody wide not my kind of tyre if I'm honest.

Tall and skinny for me any day would not consider owt less than 85% currently 255 100 r16

Preference

They're my road tyres I have some 34 inch silly wide tyres for competing but they will get replaced with some 37 inch fedima s when I can get a set Of carcasses to Portugal probably the same as Spyderman.

Fedima will be the same or very similar o 255 100 r16

Search mitchelin xl 900 16

You need mods to fit but they hold their own in the mud and the road noise is bugger all makes the 90 drivable at 70 without horrendous out of balance yank super wide ass tyres

i just like wide tyres, i know theyre **** but im not competing so im not arsed :D
i love simex tyres and have used them and silverstone extremes

my current 35/12.50/16 dynapro mt have done everything i would have expected my simex to do and dont think in the situations where i have been stuck simex wouldnt have got me any further..

saying that tho i may still get some simex:D

i just find that my maxxis clog up at the first sign of clay. they do well, but my mate says you can 'feel' his insa turbos biting whereas my car just doesnt give that same amount of traction.

im probably not going to change them tbh cos im just dreaming and mine do just fine AND i dont want to start breaking shafts, ive got far too much to do these days to start breaking the car and making work when i want to go out and have a day away from work...
