Fitted a fuel tank guard and some Jate ring things this fine afternoon, so after having to unbolt the tow bar in the rocks last year my tank is now better protected.

My new transfer box is done, also done a new cam belt, water pump and check the pressure in the water system. Just got the bearings, suspension and shaftes/diff to check, then the electrics, radio and sleeping stuff to do.

You taking the 90, instead of the Disco? Have you run it about on the new Tbox?
I've got rear springs to change, front and rear brake pads, and then to replace the front crank oil seal that only costs £3, but as I'm going to have to strip the front of the engine down, I might as well change the crank damper pulley thing, water pump and belt with the tensioners, £3 part, requiring £250 of other parts FFS. To make things easier getting the crank pulley off, I will have to remove the radiator and intercooler YAY! for doing that again.
I want to get it finished before Dec, so then I can spend some time making and fitting better racks in the buck, and storage, as last time I started loosing track where things were stored.
Having a new front diff and swivel seals fitted next week.

I ran it about today and will be doing 150 miles in it tomorrow, 1st impressions well I can now do 60-70 on the motorway not 55max with going deaf. I do need to sort out the rear axel its noisy and I have an odd metalic noise in the front somehwere. Anyway progress.

The transfer box makes the 90 like the disco so I honestly can't say its a good or bad thing.

Err considering the Disco did not sell on fleabay for 1200 today It's likely its going back to morocco now. It's already got all the bits fitted, I just need to hmm, err take the seats out?

I thought you would have wanted to try out the 90. Although the last 90 on our trip didn't fair to well.

The only place a Defender makes sense is places like Morocco, if I didn't do these trips I would have binned the 110 already.

I do Mike, but I'll need to fit bits to it and they will come some way to the price of the Disco, so I'm thinking of taking the Disco and then selling it. Also the Disco is super quiet ;-) anyway not 100% positive yet but the Disco is good to go with nothing else needed doing to it.

Every time a new job needs doing I think of binning mine, but then I wouldn't know what to get. Then when its running well I think to myself how great they are. I know several people who did get rid of theirs and regretted it. They ended up buy another one. It works well for me out here in the French countryside. Especially in the winter time.

What bits do you need to fit? Do what I did and just throw everything in the back, but don't take any jars of spaghetti bolognaise sauce or tomato soup.

Enough food for 7 nights wild camping in Marocco? My wife wants to travel down with me, as Chris is picking his wife up there, so we will get the ferry from Portsmouth to Santadar on the Friday now. We will be at the camp site in Tarifa on the Saturday and wait for us to gather.

Then she wants to spend a day in the hell hole city looking at plastic tat for sale in and around that market square, and then fly back the next day I'll give you a call Chris to confirm the dates of that with you.

Mike, your correct, that's the camp-site, don't remember much of it, other than the bar and for some odd reason the kiddies playground that I sprayed regurgitated beer foam in, Brits eh? I'm **** with foreign place names. Your correct.

Ha, maybe we should pick another campsite in case your recognised. No problem, just want to make sure we are all on the same page. I'm also not so good with foreign place names. I have to write them down.

Only 24 weeks to go. I must start sorting my Defender out. Actually , thinking further I have done a few jobs. New decking on the roof rack, new Rad and intercooler, refitted the visco's fan instead of the Kenlowe electric one, Fitted new LED spots and LED roof bar lights.Fitted heavy duty hubs. Fitted a loud speaker for the CB radio, Had new valve stem seals fitted, New ball joints and A bar joint fitted, New front wheel bearings, Replaced the cam belts and tensioners, Just have to sort out this vibration which I think is coming from the front axle and a new whine has started from the back axle. Think I will just buy a load of plastic storage boxes for all the gear etc. Oh, and I need to get a proper coolbox. When I get back I think its going in for a respray.

My tensioners, belt, pulley, crank seal, and water pump arrived today, hmmm not really looking forward to that one. Water pump looks a bit fiddly to get to, oh well.

I think the foam incident went unnoticed

Fitted the new LED spots and roof bar light and what a difference. Its like driving in day light. I should have done this ages ago. Fitting the 150 db air horns this weekend, That should wake up the dozy Froggs when they cut there corners.

I've got some air horn fitted, the sand people don't seem to like them when they try to slow you down to beg for something, blast the horn and wave

Chris, what are the dates that your wife is getting to Marrakesh? Want to coordinate with my wife returning home from Marrakesh and book the flight, oh and whats the hotel called your staying at?

For those of you that haven't used Tanger Med port, I found this video, I thought Tanger Med port was really easy, like shown below
