Incidentally, how many spare wheels / tyres are you all taking?
We're thinking one and a couple of inner tubes just in case.

One spare on the back and one on the roof without a rim - also have an 'overland' repair kit.

I have one sprare, but I have just been offered 4xGeneral Grabber AT2' with a lot of tread on them on wheels for £200 so I'll probably grab them this weekend. Then I'll have two spares with me.

All this talk about the trip has inspired me to start working out where all this gear is going to go. I have some of the essentials on board, just have to work around the rest.
NETTO, 6.99 Euros for a dozen bottles of 33cl of 1664.

we could do with a couple of general grabber at2's. We're rubbered up with 4 of these already but are in need of a couple of spares.

NFU covers Morocco and have breakdown cover for UK and Europe with ADAC which is said to cover all countries bordering the med. but find it hard to believe it covers North Africa.

In Morocco if the vehicle needs to be recovered to Spain the only way seems to be to load it onto a truck - one of those that carry gravel/rock - and the occupants sit in their vehicle for the trip - a bit of a terrifying experience I would think.

Thanks, I take it that is NFU Mutual? I will check them out.

I might have been a bit misleading about the NFU Mutual - if you have comprehensive vehicle insurance cover with them they will provide a green card for Morocco for the period of the trip for third party only.

Were taking out medical insurance which will cover 4x4, but I think as far as the car goes there not a lot I can do my Green Flag wont cover me in Morocco.

With the insurance cover I have here in France I am fully covered for Morocco but I am not sure about recovery. I don't trust French insurance, in a lot of cases the policy is not worth the paper its written. You have to threat them with court action before they pay up.

That's good - going exactly the same way - but should be ahead - Bayonne Friday night and then set off 7am and then the Saturday night 1 or 2 hours north of Seville.
