I meant to say, I didn't realise there were differences in the THOR systems... I ordered a sensor off ebay which I saw was for petrol P38's up to 2000.
I was informed the sensor I had (wrongly) ordered was for up to 2000, but since my car is a late (September) 2000, it had a totally different part. Similar shape and size, but the socket was on the sensor and only 2 pin. So they changed it at some point in 2000 for a 3 pin sensor with a wire coming out of it about 6 inches long and a socket (or a female plug if you like) for the connecting wire.
I am sending the wrong part back today and have instructed Maltings Off Road Ltd, Doncaster, 01427 753394 to call me upon receipt of the part and I will pay the extra £5 for another (correct) Crank Sensor to keep as a spare.
I have added the name & number of the company as I found them to be pretty excellent to deal with and reasonably priced.
