Just noticed this in the caravan and motorhome club magazine.
Looks pretty sustainable and should slow the barstewards down.

Can still access the accelerator. Could sync the revs and still change gear and use the hand brake to slow down.

I would prefer on that covered all 3 pedals and also was smaller and higher up in the footwell to make it harder to attack
 
Like wot flat says, MUST cover the pedals completely. Thieves can cut through the pedal legs and have that one off in seconds, and drive on the stubs. If you are looking for a pedal lock, do consider the one made by Adrenalin.

I just bought an Adrenalin for an pre 86 v8 but the clutch pedal prevents it being fitted i.e. distance from brake to clutch is different. Has anyone had similar issues and if so did you find a solution?
I have contacted the supplier and they suggest that the pedals can get slightly bent to one side which would cause the problem. Is that really possible (bent at least 2") or is it simply that the V8 has a different pedal configuration (the pedal rubbers are certainly different).
Any thoughts?
 
lf it doesn't fit, send it back and get the X-Eng full cover pedal lock, which folds flat on the floor when not in use and completely covers all three pedals.

Damn - I was sold on the idea of the yellow one as I liked the little flashing light. I had been toying with cutting one end off the box to let the clutch pedal fit, that way I could still have the little light :)

Pic attached for comparison. (Mine is a later model than yours). Only difference I can see is your clutch pedal pad is central to the stalk whereas mine is offset to the right of the stalk.
 
Maybe they sent you the wrong version of their pedal lock? Send them a pic of the arrangement with a tape measure in the view and ask them to check you have the right one.
 
lt looks good, but leaves you with a big metal box that you have to find a home for while you are driving.
Having said that, any visible security is good, and you can't get much more visible than that.

I park mine in the passenger footwell. If I have a passenger it goes in the back, with a short length of chain looped through a tie-down ring and the lock pin through a couple of the chain links.

I have sent a picture but without the tape measure, I will try that tomorrow.
Incidentally, looking at images on the web, I have noticed that early defenders (1985) have the wider stem on the clutch BUT I only found a 1984 petrol Defender that had the wider stem and the same type of pedal. So clearly there was some changes - hopefully this will be of help to anyone else with a similar vehicle.

I have now measured distances and the fatter stalk on the clutch pedal seems to add about 2cm (see attached). The actual pedal seems about central on the stalk and the bigger rubber (with metal claws for attachment) is not significant (approx 0.5cm). So by my calculation the anomaly is about 2.5 cm.

I really like this pedal lock that Lightning has suggested, looks really secure, classy too and folding away to nothing when not in use is really handy.

If you really want something yellow and highly visible, why not get one of these and spray the flat underside which is visible when locked, yellow?

Also to have the flashing light you can drill a hole and fit a flashing LED, a battery holder can be fixed on the inside to power it. Easy to buy in the days of Maplin electronics but now they've gone you can but pretty much anything on fleabay. Another possibility is I saw some dummy security cameras, the dome type, in Wilko. You could get one of those and dismantle it for the flashing red LED and battery compartment.

Might be better than mucking about with your pedals or modifying a non-fitting pedal lock.
