Wouldn't go that far. Like other small towns I think the recession has taken it's toll. The drive alone from Glasgow, along Loch Lomond, toilet stop at the Green Wellie shop in Tyndrum then through Glen Coe is magnificent.

I was fortunate enough to drive the Corrieyairak Pass in the late 80's, one of the last 'green lanes' in Scotland. Sadly now closed.
 
The good thing however, is that a lot of the landowners don't mind. So long as you ask first.
And don't take the **** or go off the lains the few that I know will just ask when you are going, how meany in the groupe and the reg numbers of the landys going.

If you get caught anywhere you shouldn't be then with the courts, expect the minimum of your car getting crushed and be very lucky you don't get a large fine. Their is zero sense of humoure about it well in fife and tayside anyway.
