On one of my P38's, I replaced the O rings over 12 years ago with standard O rings. I gave them a smear of silicone grease and they have been just fine. I have probably knackered it saying that. Not keen on any form of sealant as it may not flex.

Audi core always been considered an upgrade. JLR cut hole in rhs which is what puts me off. it’s good enough for them with their tiny hands
You have room and time, it’s not your daily so dash out may be good thing for you. Taping all the duct hoses up properly vastly increases the blowers. Who knows what else you will find in there and can put it all back squeak free. Depends on what you feel like doing

Dash out you can replace all the foam on the duct and the top of the heater box but it’s a long slow job and make sure you label all the boxes where you get the screws from for replacing them otherwise it’s a right bitch ask me how I know not to just chuck them into one big box

Stc3262 is the o ring part number.
My local indy only has britpart, they OK? Otherwise it's mail order and a wait.
Edit.. unexpected trip tomorrow, LR dealer on the route, rang them up and they are getting them in overnight ready for me to pick up on the way back home:).
£3 summut + vat each.

How do you know??
Hey you did ask.... o_O

I think it took me longer to sort the bolts than it did to get the dash back in and mine were mostly in separate boxes just to many mixed in and not labelled normally you have a few bolts from on job but centre console and dash just to many clips and screws oh well never again I pray
