Don't know on the L322 but on the p38 it is whichever side of the H gate you left it or where the switch was left on the manual. Or in neutral with fuse in F11.

Guess it would be similar.

Upload file find it wait for it to refresh and insert. Takes a second on the phone but quite easy

well all this free time i now have a fitted gear leaver and a car that thinks its in park and starts

Maybe take a feed off the brake pedal to trigger park for starting? Of course, it'll also need a feed once running to kill that signal. Not sure where best to take that from.

Can you determine when the car is in neutral? The manual p38 can for the changeover to low.

There are some things in life not worth bothering about, this project is one of them. Why do people go to such great lengths to bugger up a perfectly good car.

there are plenty of threads on here about failed gearboxes,
this perfectly good car as you put it is one of those and would have ended up sold off as parts it still may if this doesn't work

park was the choice so the key can be extracted and to make life simple, i don't see a problem in driving it whilst it thinks it in park

Fit a reconditioned auto box then. Simples.

did that 2.5k and 12 months later needs another, and before you say it the company were recommended as the experts on the l322 and were supposed to have fitted the sonos upgrades.
so the choice is throw another 2.5k at it for possibly only 12 months driving, strip for parts and get something back in the bank or give it a manual like all the range rovers models before it

Ok carry on you know best. And the company who fitted your new box said what about it failing?

"its only warranted for 12 months guv", its already been back to them in the first month and since taking it out doesn't look like it had the mods done to it either, its not a question of knowing best its about either saving it or breaking it, which if this doesn't work is exactly what will happen to it

Good luck with it, I have a mate who would like to go the other way, manual to auto on a Defender.
