hi. lost my jackit last night with my car keys inside. to top it all i'm parked in a bad place and have to move it tomorrow. could use some info about how much and where i can get a new key?.., but more importent is how hard is it to remove the steering lock??. i've downloded a manuel but its not coverd there. any hellp is wellcome!! i'm a bit of a panick:eek:eek:

New fob about £140.00 and about two weeks to get one. You will have to contact a dealer with all vehicles details to order one. That's if you don't break the steering lock. Watch where you leave your jacket next time. It is going to cost you plenty of Euros.

You need to find your jacket! May we ask? How did you loose it? Without any keys you can break the drivers window to get in You won't be able to start the car. You could remove the lock barrel?? not sure if you can do this without a key. If you can you can steer it whilst being towed - look in the drivers manual on how to be towed. I would get a recovery outfit with a sling to get the car to your home and buy a new key/fob from your dealer. At least your car will not be damaged.

As mentioned on your other post, get your local recovery service to lift it and haul home.

got a man with a big tractor to lift and pull it off the road, only damage was too my pockit.. ordering a new key but still have a brokon rad an fan... thats why it was parked where it was and why i was getting drunk in a local bar and had my jackit/key stolen. before i spend any more money i need to see if the head is still good. can this be done on the side of the road or is it a local garage job???

Only thing you can do with that is fit a new fan and rad and see what you end up with. Think a garage maybe best bet.

I had the heads off my '88 Classic a good few years ago, and it wasn't something I would like to do at the roadside...

+1 with the Wammer

i was thinking of a pressure test. i've never seen one done before and was hopping it was a small pice of kit that could come to me. if the head is gone i will have to move it up to my yard for storage...do some adding up

Hmm as it happens i have a dse for breaking!! am near malaga though!!

so... if some one knows about pressure testing..

You can do a simple cooling system pressure test. To check if the system is holding pressure or when engine is running building too much pressure up, but you can't do that unless you have a rad fitted.

If you are on about pressure testing a head for cracks then the head needs to be off and on a pressure bench. ANd preferably heated as well.
You can check cooling system for leaks with a pressure tester or you can do a cylinder leakage test, or a block test(Litmus liquid) however these do not differentiate between cracked head and just a head gasket.
