I cannot understand why blue/red, green/red are showing continuity to ground, switching them to black (ground) I cannot see it doing anything unless as the squadie once said on the range after having a misfire and he couldn't clear his weapon ." The fecking fecker's fecking fecked Sarge. I understood him completely. The tailgate button runs through the drivers door lock.
Just getting earache about "The Ornament " it's got to go one wsy or another trying yo get the reg number on retention first.

That being the case then it must be an intermittently working then.Earths through centre microswitch, I think.
Yup,I've just been out and grounded the green/ red swire and can now open the tailgate without reverting to my bypass wire.I'm thinking its the outstation or most probably the A post connectors.my madte dropped me off another lock so before I wreck the door card I'll see if I can fit that and enter the eka.hope your both keeping safe and well.take care.Alan.A lot if not all P38 circuits are made by grounding. You learned that from the boot lock. Lots of problems if there is no power feed to ground out.

@martyuk ,don't know why my reply to your post didn't come up as a new post,it came tagged on the end of yours, see #post 36 any clues? What's left A post connectors and the outstation. For some reason the tailgate button started working on its own i.e.. without my jury rig to allow me to get into the car then it stopped again. I checked the earth point near the rf receiver all fine.Bloody electrickery
Thanks Martin, something else to have a look at, will try again today.Managed to get the door card off without too much damage.Just had a look back. If the wires are showing a continuity to ground all the time, (even with the switches disconnected?) then it could be that the wiring has been caught by the window regulator and shorting them out when it shouldn't be. That will also give issues.
I also had one over the weekend where the owner had replaced the door latch with one of my refurb ones, and it was doing weird things. After a bit of on the phone diagnosis he had a look in the tailgate and found one of the wires from the tailgate switch (that went the the drivers door) was shorting out, and causing his issue. Not saying that's necessarily the case here, but if you get random things happening with the tailgate, then it's worth having a look see in there too.
Hi Martin, this thread is getting as long as" what did you do with your RR today? Had a couple of bad days so today got out to the Bastard, took the wires off the switches and have 5v at the blue/red and green /red.the black is a good ground tried my switch rig without success, had the lockout message on the dash so I'm assuming something is working just not accepting the code,it is the correct one so possibly my timjng/ input. I changed the outstation, no change. I plugged in the spare lock and used it to enter the eka.never worked but whilst using it I heard locking/ unlocking sounds from other doors except the drivers door.Gave up for the day, knackered again.try tomorrow. Unless I get an offer for a 4.6 engine and auto box with less than 4k on the clock.Just had a look back.
