so far, I have discovered the following problems: oil sprays all over the wheels, exhaust rattles as after market parts have changed its position and now it makes a noise all the time, the spare wheel mount stops the back door opening correctly, even with a turbo and upgraded Carb it is slow as ****, I have no fan, the engine uses more water than the kettle, I have an oil leak not sure where from, OMG it drinks fuel like a mother ####er, it has multiple dents everywhere, some rust on door hinges and under the back windows along the trim, the door leaked water in when raining until I bent them a little, the reverse light is now always on, the 12v ciggy lighter don't work, the heater is total ****, even the radio is fooked.

I love the bloody thing!

share your woes!
 
LOL, mine is fine, now the head gasket is fixed :D

Yours sounds a lot like Dave :eek: dont suppose you bought it from the same place did you :rolleyes:

sounds like a typical landy to me.
why do we put ourselves through it i wonder.
 
I've owned mine 2 months. Only time I drove it was to bring it home.
It's been in the bodyshop since the first of last month - I can't even remember what it looks like!
 
funniest thing was this week, I was away, wife went to the garage, fuelled up no problem, then it would not start, 4 hours later AA bloke, took a spanner to the connection on the starter motor, everything is fine, 4 hours for a loose nut, she was ****ed right off
 
I'm not really sure the OP knows what it is as his earlier posts say its an 89 Defender T200i so its anyone's guess.
 
sounds better than mine. Nothing wrong with a controlled oil leak or 2 (or more) aslong as it dont **** out over the road for the poor old bikers.

Exhaust rattling just proves its still there, i wish water only came in through the doors on mine, dunno what your on about with turbo and carb and just a bit of rust on your doors?! you lucky git! a rats fart could blow my rust box's doors off!

Who would have them any other way
 
Don't know what the issue is with it leaking oil, all landys do it, it's like a dog marking its territory :p, as for the rest sounds like you got a good en:D
 
Non off the windows work except drivers - all u need anyway lol ,
Door springs gone in drivers so got to reach from back and open from inside , nearside front archs has rotted completely ,
the usual rattles ,
back door has dropped and is a ball to open and close , tyres are anoyimgly loud , always breaks all the time
WHEEL BEARINGS! i just hate them now
no reverse light , rear sunroofs leaking , drinks fuel and smokes like a mother ####er just before turbo spools

oh yer and the obvious marking territory

Sold mine not long ago and had a new one with in a fortnight :D Don't know why I do it to my self as I'd only just rebuild it :eek:
