so despite the problems, I have done my 1st major journey in the Landy a round trip of 200 miles mixed roads including max'd speed, my temp was getting high like 75% and after stopping we had to stop and top the water levels up, I have an idea of what the problem is but could you peeps give me some advice?

check rads hot all over when engines up to temp and core is still ,complete ,this proves thermostat works too,but head gaskets a good bet if rad is ok after checking

how have you got an upgraded carb in a 200tdi then
Hi you need to understand that I know very little about engines so the best bet is I take a picture and show you, I have only the basis of the seller to go on

Discovered two problems with over heating one was a leak on a hose connection at the top of the engine and also core plug was passing, discovered that when it went altogether in home base car park both problems are fixed now, I'm onto the new problems with fuel now

you dont have a carb,only petrols have them,yours is a diesel,it has a diesel pump well 2 actually injection and lift pumps,200 tdi is a very reliable engine so not all bad news,and they all leak oil

I know the carb comment is wrong I was a bit drunk the night I posted and meant turbo, it has been pointed out loads
