I can definitely vouch that cheap glow plugs are crap and make a hard start. I changed for Bosch and almost immediate fire up on first turn of the key.

I always fit the bosch plugs Shaun, never an issue.

Beru, Delphi and NGK are also good.

Last lot of Delphi I had weren't so good. Beru were much better and so far have maintained their performance. Get what you pay for sometimes. Not tried Bosch.

+1 on the NGK I changed mine from the chinese made ones to NKG, no problem starting even at -5
