It's linear really, I had one cylinder on mine reading 270 the rest were 320-380 and it smoked a bit but not as bad as yours and power was down. If you have 2 low readings on adjacent cylinders its a good indication of head gasket failure. Number 1 cylinder is at the front, give us the readings 1,2,3 and 4.Cool , so I'll do that , drop them in the morning pick them up even and then check the compression.
Yes it definitely a diesel , that's why I had to order online , all the shops around me are selling only petrol ones.
Aparently it go until 70bar which is 1000psi I think so should be plenty
I'll post the result here tomorrow evening but I should be hoping for around 400psi per cylinder then ? How much difference is it acceptable ?
Magnet won't work because they are copper. I've got a strong piece of wire bent on the end in a sort of hook shape which works well.Yes , about that , 3 came with the washers and one stayed in , any tip to take it out ? Tried fishing and magnet , no luck :/
There is a point where it's best if you just give it to a professional, go home, get a cup of tea, and wait for the bill.
undo the block drain on lhs of block under first core plug before undoing any head bolt, cracks are generally visible between valves and between injector or heater plug holes and valves, only skim head if it needs it ie its warped or is grooved /pittedHi guys,
so just got the landy back after paying £100 for the guy to tell me it is at least the head gasket , he did say that he think the head cracked as well.
So I will do the job myself as he quoted me over £1000 to do it...
any advice before I start ?
I will have to do it in 2 days because I will send the head for a checking and refurb.
Thanks
