I can confirm i went there to get the car back and i seen the workshop and everything the cars all up and working with a new rebuild engine Williamson's is a legit business there was multiple range rovers there aswell all being rebuilt
Was that at Sunbeam Street or the new place?

Hi sorry to bother you, did you get your car back?? Mine is currently on the ramps dismantled. We finally found the address after searching and searching. Just a little worried we may not be getting it back they have had ours since January this year also. I’ve spent thousands on car hire my partner has gone down and seen them face to face and then suddenly it was dragged out the yard with the other 200+ high end cars and on the ramp stripped in 2 days and asked for another £4000, to which we only paid half for the parts now awaiting for completion.

I don’t want to sound too naive, but it does seem genuine well I am hoping
It's the same people under a different name. They have moved to another workshop because they have been forced out of the big sunbeam street unit via the use of an anti social disorder order, under the police and crimes act 2014, which forces them out of that building location for the duration of the order. The council confirmed this.

They change identity of the company on a regular basis when peeps find out who they really are. Nobody in their right mind would buy a company with a background as bad as this, and try to run it. It would be far easier to setup a new one and trade honestly. In reality what would the buyer get? Tools and staff who are not the best mechanics if their history is anything to go by. And a trading history which at best is littered with fraud and organised blackmail.

It is rare peeps get their car back. If they do it's likely to have the same problem or they mess up the work. They will blackmail you for more money. Too late to get it back if its in bits. They know they have you over a barrel as they have your car. Their business model includes setting the price low, then asking for more money when they have your vehicle. May I suggest you only agree to pay when the work is done and you can see the engine running. They may fight back on this but they have your vehicle. Its natural to think you will want it back so they should be able to see your side of things and realise its worth agreeing to this. If they are being honest then this will not be a problem. They have always asked peeps to pay up front as part of their business model of scamming owners. The list of owners runs into hundreds and has gone on for many years.

@Ciga is a one time poster who only has good things to say about this company. He/she hasn't been back since. I find this unusual.

so you know for definite the garage my car is in is apart of a scam group? Because on this post previously it just shows being a little skepticism because of other garages on eBay, we’ve been to the garage although they do seem busy and like they’ve took a lot on, but no cars are being dismantled and sent away? If that’s the case they wouldn’t have 200+ sat in the yard it took them 2 days to strip mine and nothings been sent away the engine was seized that won’t be worth anything to anyone abroad nor the carcass ?

so you’re saying the council have confirmed that this person who owns this garage is the same apart of the sunbeam gang? Cause if that’s the case I better get the car dragged back home in bits. I understand what you’re saying and we’ve gone through all the different scenarios in our head as well and I do find it strange this blokes commented once and disappeared again, however I do have the garage owners home address, i know many of the people he deals with so I can’t imagine he would want the hassle if it was a dodgey firm…
The council haven't named or confirmed anyone. There's at least one notice attached the the main entrance if someone wants to go and have a look. The council confirmed the order is in place and they have had trouble with them for some time.

I assume yer talking/dealing with alex paul carter? If so why does he have 200 cars in stock that belong to others? Is it in Telford?

Where did you find the advert for them?

Is it williamson components, elite engineering or titan holdings yer dealing with?

Yes the garage is unit 9 Kendall park.
There’s no notice outside though, so I’m confused? all vehicles are being worked on, there not stripped and just stood on ramps for the sake of it I’m baffled where you’ve got this information… it’s as Watson on eBay, but it’s sovereign automotive.
The notice is on the sunbeam street building in wolverhampton.

A quick summary of this thread as I'm guessing you haven't read the whole thread, or at least the last 100 posts?

Company trading in sumbeam street wolverhampton, taking cars for repair and rarely giving them back, for many years. They will collect your car and cash, and often don't give it back. They then ask for more money or they won't give it back. They insist the repair cost needed is greater than first thought. Most of them are the result of snapped cranks if its a Tdv6 engine, as fitted to Lr d3, d4 and rrs. On occasion you may get the car back. Work either not done or done poorly. Can't remember anyone saying they were happy with their work.

They also work on other vehicles like vans and pickups. Offering to recondition and/or repair engines.

Its all over the web and news. Sunbeam street garage owners being taken to court over it.

Neighbouring businesses have had to fence off their land to stop them abandoning cars on it. They have also dumped cars on sunbeam street in Wolverhampton, without engines fitted, outside their yard. Often the front end body parts missing. Long ago it was said they were selling the engines and keeping the cash.

Something like 800 owners are involved in this, having lost their car and/or money. Their sunbeam street yard is/was a mess. They boarded up the high up workshop windows to hide them working in there. Council and local recovery took away abandoned cars on several occasions. Yellow lines then put down. The council and neighbouring businesses have wanted them out for some time. I'm guessing trading standards a fed-up of hearing complaints about them.

The stories from peeps coming on ere to tell us how they have lost out are truly shocking.

There's an action group on facebook.

Police and Trading Standard raids occurred. Trading standards taking them to court as per new article. Case keeps being delayed due to the virus. Action is based on poor trading methods.

Business advertised under different names on ebay and other web sites. Often company names that don't exist on companies house. Or previoulsy gone bust and identity copied. Or just fake. Company looks to have changed ownership once, then again, in recent times. In the past they have offered a fake location like Wales or Shropshie, when they were really trading from sunbeam street wolverhampton.

They have moved from sunbeam street wolverhamptin to another location. I would hazard a guess this is because of a court order on their sunbeam street wolverhamptom garage/yard/address which only allows council staff and emergency workers on site, or said person will be fined if entering. Hence they no longer trade from said location.

It is thought what they were doing was highly lucrative. Despite legal action against them, they kept going, as it didn't have the power to stop them. We assume they're still running as before, but under another new name.

Can you provide a link to the ebay user account as I can't find it.

Thank you to Lord Hippo for such a comprehensive summary of events to date at Sunbeam Street. Does anyone know if this company is also trading as Vogue Performance? They have had our landy for 8 weeks now and having read the thread very similar characteristics to the other experiences seen above. No work started yet so we asked for it back. Remarkably they have lost the key to the shuttered compound where it's being held. When we threatened contacting police and trading standards if they didn't allow us in they replied 'carry on'. Any advice on next steps appreciated. Thanks all.

We found them on auto trader website and we've been talking to a Sukhi and an Alex so the names seem to tie in with the company talked about in Sunbeam Street. Thanks for replying we are so worried.

Good morning all. Sorry for delay in updating this thread. It's been a busy time working with Wolverhampton City Council to find a way to retrieve our vehicle being held in Sunbeam Street. Firstly I am genuinely sorry to all those people who've been impacted negatively by this scam. I am relieved to say that we now have our car back. Wolverhampton City Council were able to confirm to us once the reg make and model quoted that it was on a list of vehicles being held within a warehouse in Sunbeam Street in an audit carried out in May 2022.

They granted us a temporary access order to retrieve it which with the help of a local vehicle recovery company we were able to do. The owners of the scam company were obstructive and blocked us in all forms of communication but miraculously when we went to collect our car it had been left in the street with the keys in ready for us. We are now working with the council supplying them with all the intelligence we have regarding correspondence with said company so that they have a chance of shutting them down before they have the chance to scam anyone else.
