Obviously not put back together properly, with the previous owners cooperation you could make a claim against them.

Looks like it could be a bolt from the valve block. As for the 'grit' in the oil could be fri tion material.....

Did the garage only do an oil and filter change?

Who did the work? Was yours rebuilt or a recon fitted? Also which garage (I have an ulterior motive)!!!!

When i bought the Range Rover it had a rebuilt gearbox fitted by SY Motors in Birmingham which came with a warranty but for the warranty to hold any meaning the gearbox had to have the oil and filter changed 1000 miles or 1 month after the gearbox was installed.....which the previous owner didnt!!

Im still going to try and get them to uphold there warranty as surely a rebuilt gearbox wouldnt need and oil change so soon?

probably need a change early to make sure all crap has been flushed out fully.

i see why they state that :)

Just an update on the range rover........ It's fixed I got it transported to the company who done the gearbox and they fixed it under the warranty.

Ill get full report on Monday and find out what has been done.
