Cracked it, my second key is now synced !!!!!!!!!!
Been trying various methods all morning without success, then tried a method given to me by nigelrw and away she went. (Many thanks to you Sir).
Put key in door, press lock button and turn to lock position for 15 seconds. After about 10 seconds there was activity from the central locking and the drivers window closed. Kept lock button pressed until the key was out of the lock, pressed unlock and it unlocked the car and the engine started. WTF !!!!!!!!!
I went through this proceedure yesterday with mozz smith but didn't hold in the lock position for so long so it failed, ah well, it's now working.
Seems to me that every P38 is different and has a mind of it's own, only Land Rover could come up with such a **** poor system.
My concern now is not wanting all this hassle next time the battery is disconnected or it goes flat on me for some reason, imagine being stuck on the roadside trying to sort this bastard out, God forbid.
Is it possible to have the immobiliser programmed out in some way ?
My understanding is not all markets have this facility enabled so, logic says it can be disabled, right ? (Yes,yes, I know you shouldn't make such rash statements with Land Rover).
Opinions on a postcard please to :-
