I had the same this weekend, Prepping brothers 90 for paint and they'd been riveted on.

Looks like a good work space :) Wish I had a workshop that big.

It's ok, but floods when it rains heavily!

I am going to have to tow the 90 out to take the body off, not sure where I am going to put it either.

Didn't get as much sorted as I would have hoped, mostly due to me being forced to go to a performing arts festival.

First things were to get my shed sorted:

Then I decided to take the wings off. This this was stalled slightly when I noticed that the garage that did the bodywork before used metal rivets to hold the arches on...

So the rest of the afternoon was spent getting the rivets off. Great.

Will go up after work today and hopefully get the wings off fully.
Interesting tyres behind the 90..... are they part of the rebuild....? :D

Today has been a good day, first the chassis came:

Then finally managed to get some stuff done after work today, got one wing off, have drained the oil and the coolant, and removed the radiator and intercooler.

So I am hoping that by the end of the coming weekend I should have got the body off, fingers crossed.

I do however now need a new radiator, and wheel nuts.

As for painting the chassis, I am not sure what to do, I don't like the look of a galv chassis, but don't have the time or the paint to do the whole thing. I might just do the crossmember and the side of the chassis that you can see.

Paint shouldn't cost too much, if you're gonna paint some of it, you may as well paint it all. You'll be annoyed at yourself for not doing once you've got it all together

Ok, I will paint it!

I need to get some more primer.

Next question...the wings were a right arse to get off, and at some point I want new ones. I am trying to decide whether to splash out £170 and get 2 new wings. Though I am already up to the amount that I have borrowed, so it would be on my overdraft...

Todays purchases:
- A farm jack
- New radiator
- Lots of acid etch primer
- New wheel brace
- 20 wheel nuts

running total £2430

Update: I spent all of sunday working on it and it is now at the point where the body should just lift off.

Do I actually need to remove the whole steering column, or if I loosen up the bolts will it slide off when I lift it up?

I spent an hour trying to remove the handrake cable. After cutting it off with some pliers I realised it should have just pulled out!

Will hopefully get the body off in the next few days. Then the fun bit can start.

Haven't updated this for a while, been buying a lot of stuff and triple checking I have undone all of the bolts holding the body on.

I found 2 I had missed right in the centre, under the floor. I can't damn well get to them, so I am going to have to take the floor out.

I now have a shiny new Gwyn Lewis wading kit, cam belt and clutch kits, seals for the swivels, a decent set of Bahco sockets, a hi-lift jack, assorted gaskets and seals, hopefully all of the mounts, and a shed load of various paints.

Running total is £2772.54.

Seems like I hadn't even nearly allowed enough money for all of the fluids, is looking to be about £150 worth....can anyone recommend a supplier for the various oils and fluids?

I always use the local motorfactors, they charge me #### all for oil :p

Or if I want EP90 I go to my mates garage and get it free, same for 10-40 for the dervs

You mean the brackets that sit on top of the chassis with 2 bolts? If so, Don't touch the bolts on the top and take the one out of the front that bolts through the tub and seatbelt stalk anchor.

yes I do mean that one. Thanks for the tip.

As for lifting the body off we constructed a timber frame to support the body when we changed the chassis, it would have been a lot better with scaffold poles but had to work with what we had. Not sure it is the safest way to go about it!

Ha, good idea with the letting down of the tyres.

My plan is a metal pole I found on the farm (hope it is strong enough) under the rear tub and through the wheel arches with a strap around both ends, then another strap through the front windows.

Then it should just lift up with the telehandler. I hope...

It may just have to go outside though, as there isn't enough height in my shed to get the body in with the telehandler.
