I'm gonna be phoning up NFU to see about series insurance, did get a decent quote sub 1k from Adrian Flux but I want to see how cheap I can get it

20, with 1 year NCB, 2nd car
 
try lancaster too, just been quoted £180 on the 90, would have used adrian flux as that is who the other car is insured with but they couldnt match it.

EDIT: Just called back to give them the go ahead. agreed value, fully comp and £150 excess with legal cover etc £199.95.

pretty happy with that :)

adrian flux just gave me an amazing quote..! amazing for a 21 yr old anyway! £912 all mods and they will cover more if i want to lift or anything.. offroad cover breakdown cover windscreen and all that! fully comp too..


i just went and compared the market and for a laugh scrolled down...

Flux will give a discount for being on here too.I had the breakdown cover for an extra 60ish quid and that was spot on too.

oh no its just my defender.. ahhh i will ring flux again then.. anyone know what the score is with canceling insurance early and loosing no claims?
 
lucky for some I suppose the day i can get insured on a landrover will come in the next few years, nfu have refused to quote as my parent dont hae a policy with them and as im u25 wont touch me I've tried nearly every option now and i'm giving up . I'm going to get a polo to bild no claims up now until im in my 20's .
INSURANCE TAKES THE MICK NOW AND THE PROBLEM IS PEOPLE CLAIMING FOR EVERY INJURY KNOWN TO MAN IF THEY GET BUMPED INTO , I JUST HOPE THESE PEOPLE KNOW THEY ARE PRICING YOUNGER GENERATIONS OUT OF DRIVING.

if its anything like what lancaster told me today its a fee to the broker and then an early cancellation fee for the insurer too.
 
do you loose no claims?? actually its only the end of oct.. may aswell wait it out and get a new windscreen off them!


jordan, thats what i did.. best way round it sadly.. i think the reason why insurance drops when you are 21 is because the specialist companies recognise you.. on go compare and the like, my quotes are coming out the same as when i was 18..



by the way, that 98k quote was on a fully standard landy aswell!!
 
you would not lose any no claims but you would not gain the year that you are currently paying for if that makes sense.
 
yehh i see what you mean bobbler, il leave it and have a windscreen when my mot is due.. 70 quid excess tho..
 
dont think you lose no claims for a windscreen claim unless things have changed.

I know last time I asked (about 5 years ago) I was told I could claim but if i needed to claim again that year for another windscreen then my no claims would be affected after the second time.

Best thing to do is ask and if it does then just get a second hand windscreen, would prob be around the same price as your excess anyway.
 
well.. a new windscreen is £35 plus vat.. but its just fitting that would be a paint, i dont quite trust myself!

Ring up a windscreen company (small one) and ask them to fit it for cash that's what I did £20. Took him 5 mins
 
Karlos, get it to stafford one weekend i can get it fitted, plus a good price for the screen if you havent bought one already.
 
I pay 409 with breakdown and relay. Legal cover. Also got unlimited mileage. Bargain through adrian flux. I am 36. 6 points, 1 crash in 5 years. I have uplift, 2.5td and a snow plough for winter.

Surprised at adrian flux. I'm insured with highways through them. I'm 20 driving a 3.9 V8 90 for £723 a year with one year.
