I have cleaned out and used Fertan and washed out the chassis.

I had bought some Fertan underseal wax years ago and never used it, I was going to use it inside the chassis. But reading it today it says min 20 degreees so it's too cold.

I has been waxed about 7 years ago so what's the best thing I can use in this weather?

I wouldn't bother, you can't guarantee that the chassis is totally dry on the inside.
 
As above it’s more of a summer or workshop job. I used Dinitrol on mine, but I don’t think it’ll displace moisture.
 
Been running air hose through it and blowing hot air in as well today. So should be dry in a few days.
Dimitrol says ok at 15 degrees so might get some of that

Remember oil and wax floats on water, if it is left outside overnight it will be damp again tomorrow, I would wait until next summer, it won't rot away over one winter.
 
If you really want to put something in there now dont use a sealing wax, like Dinitrol or Waxoyl.
 
Hi if you could leave it in a dry area with a draft it would dry after time, if using Waxoyl mix with a little diesel and fresh oil, the diesel will displace any moisture and the oil substance starves the rust of oxygen but make sure whatever you spray is heated well before application to create a mist

It's inside the garage, I put a heat gun down the rails today and had the fan heaters on. It only a small garage so I could easily raise the temp to 20 degrees. Will have another day of heat and use the Fertan stuff.
A little tip if you tape over all the drain holes except the rear loom holes and aim a heat gun down the chassis at the front it works really well to remove the damp.

Anyone ever tried Flag rust converter, I can't decide if it's amazing or it's just paint and hides the rust.
So far the test I did has a really nice tough black skin over it and it does appear to metal not just a paint.

I use Orthophosphoric acid to convert rust, its much cheaper than rust converters, I dont know about spraying it inside a chassis though.
 
Yer I think most converter contain phosphoric acid or similar.

My brake calipers are pretty bad I think I'm going to try electrolysis for them.
There are some you tube videos comparing the different acids. Hydrochloric is good but quite harsh on the surface. Got to make sure you neutralise it after thou.

I think on the outside I'm going to go over the Fertan converted surface with the Flag stuff as it leaves a really nice thick skin and which should convert anything left or missed by Fertan.

Yes the heat gun down the rails is amazing actually inside was dry when I stuck a endoscope in there.

I had 2 fan heaters on to raise temp to 20 and then used the Fertan UBS 220 inside the chassis.

I do recommend it actually really nice stuff. Went through the gung and probe no issues. Gave it 2 thick coats.

This morning went over the chassis with panel wipe to remove any overspray and will get another coat of the flag rust converter before a few of epoxy jotamastic 87.

Let's hope the new owner appreciates all this work when I sell it!
