All the OP should need to do on his year of car is put key in ignition and press fob.

Thanks for reply, I am sending BECM off to rick-the-pick I will up date you with progress thanks for all your help.

Fingers crossed. Let us know how you get on.

@Wammers: if mine has EGR then it is well hidden! :)

I'll sort the becm out.

The difference between early EDC & late EDC depends on what ECU you have on the range rover.
Early EDC, the first EDC produced back in 1994 requires no codes to operate the engine.

Update........it's running :amen: my wife's friends husband knows a chap who might be able to help! So after exhausting what I thought was every avenue, and ready to throw in the towel, I thought I had nothing to loose, so he came over, and after an hour or so......knock me down with a feather the old girl started up!! Wot a relief, didn't need the nanocom at all, just a simple trick with the key!!! Wish I knew this before I paid out £400 :frusty:

Yay!! So what was his secret with the key!?
What's that, you're only telling those that enquire if they pay £50 each??

EMS code and BECM were not out of sync then. You cannot sync that with the key.

See post #61. Postal orders will do. :D:D:D

That's what my handbook says but it wouldn't work when I tried it. I needed to put key in the door lock and as it was unlocked I pressed the lock button and turned the key to lock at the same time. this resynced the system:)

Can be done either way. Passive coil in lock barrel should sync the fob and remove engine disabled message.

Yep if you put the key in the ignition and turn the key to position 3 and enter the EKA code with the key fob, number in using the lock button and enter using the unlock button. Simple really. Glad the girls up and running, it's caused so much stress :( Hope this trick helps you all. Cheers

Cool. If you're keeping the car then you'll need a Nanocom sooner or later so don't go kicking yourself over that. Better to have it for when you need it urgently. I'd have been stuffed a few times without mine.

Yeah I agree, I will be keeping the car, spent way too much on the old girl now to get rid. Thanks again :)
