just purchassed a series 2a on logbook looks more like a series 3 with grill moved forward to look like a 90. now log book chassis numbers and vin all match up but if i decode vin it cums up as a series 2a 109 station wagan so my question is wtf is going on cant quite work it out

Where did you find the vehicle ID tags ? Do they tally with your paperwork ?
 
it is on coils but looks like its being modified to fit as spring hangeres are still there elmer ant got nothing on this:):):):):)
 
most likely a series 2. the screen and roof look like defender. I am just putting back a series 2 that had a seventies facelift to series 3 lookalike. can cost a lot to get it back to original but you can keep it as is . has it got a v8 in it
 
I can see 90 jacking points below the bumper ;)

I have done 88 on coils & left the front spring hangers on.
Is this ex military ?
 
i will mot it any way had £2500 worth of work last year before i purchased it and only done 200 miles so should need much if anyting at all
 
If it's military the rear cross member is different with no hole for a PTO and the middle chassis cross member is removeable . Would have a military VIN plate inside the on the bulkhead. Someone has tried to make it look like a Defender.
