How are those of you with boats or in the martitime trades responding to the new net zero policies? There was a piece about it in the Telegraph a couple of days ago https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/20...me-sector-impacted-miliband-net-zero-targets/ or to get round the paywall here's an archive link: https://archive.ph/U9lyY

Seems to me compliance with all this would be very expensive, and would represent a considerable environmental burden in its own right.
"A Department for Transport spokesman said: “Smaller vessels like canal boats will not face emissions pricing or fuel regulations, as our focus remains on larger ships. We are engaging with the sector to better understand the challenges that smaller vessels face and how we can support them to reduce emissions."
Doesn't sound too bad.

But the bit about the fishing fleet sounds awful and stupid. A bit like a bit of Trumpery.

Lunch wiv dottir was nice.
We nearly had it in the garden but it was too windy, and the chicken would have got cold. (And possibly flown off! 🤣 🤣 )
Served with a really lovely Pouilly Fuissé, too rich for our money usually. 😋😋😋
Our CH is playing up again. Pump not getting a proper signal. so only runs for a very short while, when it bothers to run at all, followed by pipe banging. Strange as it had been running better than usual before.
I suspect the pump over-run stat that I have yet to change. So switched it off very early this morning and have yet to fiddle with it. Luckily it is quite warm.
Still sunny but windy.
Enjoy the evening folks.:):):)

During the spitfire time Whitney offered the RAF Jet engine they rejected it 🙄
The first rocket launch before Germany even thought of developing their own, was a British inventor rejected again by the military. Germany saw the potential and rest was history 🙄
The Dambuster method of bouncing the bomb was developed by Nelson fleet to use distance than close quarter firing. I seem to remember in the film of Barn's Wallace quotes Nelson at the research tanks to the visiting RAF.
I believe the American F 1,11 was based on a RAF V range rejected model during PM Harold Wilson era budget. It's rather amazing with a little bit of foresight the RAF ministry could have been streets ahead of the Yank's 🙄

Thats gottid me finking. My homemade mince and veg is done in me slow cookerer. Filled to the top makes about 5 or 6x 500gm butter tubs. Frozen fer later. Tis betterer for me than chop bort ready meals. Can eye do the same wiv chuck casserole? Make a big batch and freeze it fer later in butter tubs. It will be microwaved for 10 mins after thoring out int fridge. So reheaded propper like.

I would say yes but if I was you I would buy some air tight containers not expensive, to prevent dehydration as that would spoil it , or the zipped freezer bags

Whittle, surely?
But yes, think how many peeps have rejected others, like those who turned down the Beatles or JK Rowling.
The bouncing of the bomb along the water was quite a good start, but making it spin backwards, designing it so it exploded at the right depth etc, was hugely important too.
