When I was visiting W in her hospicle bed I was struck by all the electronix that surrounded her, and was obvious on all the trollies etc that the nurses and "medical assistants" were pushing around.
W had a morphine pump that was beeping constantly. The screen said "running low" or summat. When an assistant sort of blokey came to see her, I pointed it out to him (as he seemed blind to it) and also the drip that wasn't...well...dripping.
So he didn't touch either.
So when what was apparently a nurse hove up, I had a little chat with her about both.
She sorted out the drip but said that she couldn't do anything with the morphine pump as she wasn't qualified on it!
So we had a bit of a laugh about all this, with W agreeing that I had my washing machine and tumble dryer certificates and was an instructor on the dishwasher. 🤣 🤣 🤣
But honestly, what happened to the nurses in their lovely uniforms with enamel kidney dishes with reusable syringes etc, that I remember my ma having in her doctor's bags? Much greener than all the one-use stuff that fills bags of rubbish that has to be specially disposed off.

On a good clear night here we can see the entire milky way so many stars and planets it makes you feel like a speck of dust the colours are amazing I keep threatening to get a telescope, on a side note I worked on two of the domes well re-built them at Cambridge observatory was there for 6 months scaffolders had fun trying to make square things fit a round dome surprising how large thay are, well worth a visit on thear open days and nights 🎇🎇
Tip long telescope for planets short for galaxy. There's a variety of telescopes that people can get confused with. A chap on YouTube called Ed Ting will give you best advice.
Oddly enough for domes you can buy for as little as £3000+ or convert a metal shed to slide the roof off. I was thinking about the latter some day. It's a fascinating hobby in equipment and astronomy even if things go pear shaped.

Morning All. :D
Great News re: Mr. @Stanleysteamer - so very pleased for you both.
It's my day to have a "lie-in" but I couldn't. Too uncomfortable so I got up to feed the cats. :)
It seems that no matter how I lie in the bed my hand eventually go numb (more the right hand than the left it seems).
The only "fix" is to alter my position. Its my C5/C6 neck bones/disc pressing on my spinal cord. :(
When it gets to stopping my legs working they might be interested I suppose. ;)
Have a lovely day. :D

cheers mate.
She is back to moaning about not getting what they promised her, probably due to short staffing, and I have a list of stuff as long as my arm to take in to her in a short while. ;) 🤣
Sorry about your neck. I do know what you mean.
I did once fall over when walking the dogs, on my own in the Dales, as both legs gave way due to the sort of pressure on spinal cord that you mentioned. Eventually they got sufficiently normal for me to be able to stand up and walk back. Not funny.

Part of my left hand still has no feeling and they don't seem able to do anything about it.
I do hope yours gets better.:)
