Had a bit of a "wobble" this arvo.
The black dog paid me a call. :(
Really hate it when this happens.
Wife asked me what was up and I really struggled to put it into words.
Finally got it expressed and expunged and back on an even-keel. :)
It was all about coping with the transition from "do anything gung-ho bloke" to feeling like I am semi-invalid status.
I am just so shocked at how nadgered I have become in so few years.
Mate I fully sympathise.
And it creeps up on you.
This week I "learned" that I can't go up and down ladders all day long with loads of 8 kilos of tiles. Sounds pathetic, from a bloke who, as a teenager, had a job where he had to chuck/lug hundredweight sacks of sugar and 22 gallon barrels of beer around.
The human body is a thing where the bits only get replaced slowly and the speed of the replacement slows down as you get older. Especially if you do not look after it, as I don't.
We both have back and neck problems, your's prolly worse than mine. I now can no longer play the guitar which I loved doing for years, due to arthuritis.
It's totaly poop, and all you know is that you just have to get on with it.
My missus is worse than me usually it's as if we just walk around propping one another up, but you, like me, DO have someone to prop you up, both physically and mentally.
So don't be afraid to come on 'ere and yell cos we all feel like it sometimes.
I feel like you did sometimes. when that happens I just think no further ahead than the next cup of tea till I get back to whatever goes for normal!

Well as you know, W was extremely involved in testing and the lack of it, in her professional life. Apart from fraud and people fiddling things to make systems work, and lack of other necessary things like back up plans and "stuff".

Twas a pretty big "one" to have slipped through. In its effects if nothing else.
Its quite an interesting problem. The initial bug shouldn't have happened but the majority of knock on effects are due to how we choose to use phooters.

If yer fink of the theoretical ideal virus it would infect a phooter to disable it and spread itself. That's not far oft the result of the problem we face. Normally wiv a bug like this it would be spotted by the creater before being sent oot. Receiving user companies should do their own checks before rolling it oot to their phooters but most dun't trst like that. Private owners are on their own. We're told to regularly update fings like virus checkers. Hence the buggy update auto downloading to update peeps phooters when they request it. We have to download updates for fings like virus checkers, regular, to protect ourselfs. You only have protection if yer stay upto date.

Normally a bug would be corrected wiv a new release. Old release would be taken down. It was spotted and stopped early on but it was too late assit had already been downloaded to a lot of phooters/network admin servers. The bug causes windows to blue screen assit can't handle the problem. This makes fings worserer because yer can't reboot to solve it. The software will be called assa service to run as windows boots, before yer login. So it will blue screen on booting. The perfect disaster a virus would hope for, iffit were a virus. It ain't. It can be fixed by tinkering after booting into safe mode but most won't know about that. Tis not a secret. It allows windows to boot with reduced services fer problem solving.

The nature of how we use phooters and rely on them has made it worserer. This is the majority of the problem. We rely on updates to keep us safe. A lot of phooters like thems in hospitals and airports run 24/7. So the buggy updates could easily have been installed on many machines, despite only being available for a short period of time. Thems switching their phooter on for the start of their work may get auto updated and see their phooter fail if they use the problem software.

The only way a company can protect itself is to test all updates themselfs and only deploy them from their own wus sus server. Ours does this but not every company has the staff/sovs to do this. The nature of the fault requires manual intervention to solve it. Another layer of pain. Some in the news have referred to this as armer-gedden. Imagine how much worserer it would be if somefink propper serious happened like we lost all our pollinators.

Me grass as bin cut and eye started pulling the leafs oft the weeds in me grass. Several peeps on youtube do it so eye is. Takes ages. Leafs are below the grass cutting blade. Result should be fewer weed leafs growing back. Put me new cable on me mower and one of thems propper disconnecting plug fings his end if the cable. Will keep the choc block fer summink else. He's well pleased. Spottid some ivy growing up me tree. Removed some ovvit. Big patch ov rain coming over. We only gorra quick splash.
