But this isn't what was said by the R4 person who you quoted. All the above is true and understandable BUT he said that before they even think about offering insurance they consider the age of the applicant and work from there. That is NOT a level playing field, that seems to be blatent discrimination to my mind.
The person on r4 i'm referring to was talking about 4 to 6 weeks ago. He was from the over viewer regulator type peeps. Its a topic that regularly pops up. He was talking around the time their yearly financial results were published. Media highlighting price rises and insurance companies boosting turnover and profits. He corrected this saying we din't pay enough for insurance histirically. Hence turnover rise. Also because running costs have gone up. Also same fer premiums. Profits went from loss to gain.

You can make a complaint to the financial ombudsman if yer fink yer being discriminated against. But its no different to specialist companies that only insure wimmins, or oap's, sports cars etc. Age is a big facter. Yer tarred wiv the same brush as other peeps in yer age group. A typical peep having risks the same as others in their group.

Can't remember the values but he also tslked about the average cost of claims going up.

When eye bort me castle my insurance dropped 200 sovs to 400. Ticking and unticking the home owner box changes the price. My driving never changed. Just their perception of me. Perhaps castle owners claim less.

So why does my defender only cost £115.00 over here the parts cost the same . One big ripoff thay need to publish their profit margins
Where is 'over ere'? Is it in a country where it costs less to run a company, employ staff etc. Does the insurance cover you to the same level. Peeps over ere are going for cheaper providers but dun't always realise why its cheaper. Like not avvin a 24/7 claims line. Or not repsiring damage in a timely manner.

An example of free breakdown cover via a bank. Car breaks down. 3 hours later they turn up to look. It was a sunday. Can't do anyfink. 2 hours later a tow vehicle arrives. Max 50 miles tow limit despite having a bationwide policy. If yer want more than 50 miles its towed to a yard and moved via car transporter a week later. Wakes to england middle bit. Then moved on from there. Not all policies are like this but yer get what yer pay for.

It's a bit strange thay increased with brexit
Br*xit increased costs. We were trading across yurup viw no trade barriers. We now have to pay import tax. So vw, bmw and audi parts from germany are more expensive. Previoulsly no need for a shipping invoice and minimal customs checks for majority of yurup. Norranymore. That costs anorl. Time is money. Labour costs money. Number of under wrighters dropped anorl. They're chancer risk insurance type companies located around the world.

Yesdi the smaller squirrel climbed down me fence by me castle where the other one normally climbs. He were looking at the hazel nut open cases. Norras scared as the other one. Weren't bovvurd at me looking at him from me kitchen window. It was a shame there were nuts he could have had by me patio door. Eye will spread them oot so he realises nuts are available. More chance of finding em that way.

My parcel was delivered yesterday and I was out.
No note through my letterbox
Got an email saying it was delivered to someone called Jones (not my name)
Delivered at 53.4201013 degrees North 2.592141 degrees West
Cant get any more information as to where it was delivered
Royal Mail tracking etc just takes you around in circles and back eventually to the same page 🤔
Nightmare :mad::mad::mad:

Over ere is the EU it's not a cheaper provider it's the standard rate for the vehicle with agreed values most of the over ere EU insurance is on the vehicles not the person
