Ooops, that meant to be hydrogen peroxide - 6% food grade strength [please don't buy hcl for cleaning!! 🫣 ] Hydrogen peroxide is readily available from Amazon and eBay suppliers. I normally buy job lots of multiple 5ltr containers for ease and bulk buy cost saving.

My A level in chemistry would have prevented me from being a total idiot!;)

I picked the misses up in town tonight, decided to go into spoons for a bite to eat as it was getting late, sat down for 2 mins
then the misses went up to order food. I looked at my phone & got a hand on my shoulder (a mate) burst into tears as I shook
his hand wtf is going on, I got a bit of a shock tbh. His wife has got terminal C. She has been clear for 6 years then found a lump
on her throat. Shes a doctor & theres nowt they can do for her. :(:(

Then on the way home I went to the shop & on the way out I bumped into another landy mate from along the road, he's
had a stroke :( & its affected his eye sight so not allowed to drive was saying he might have to sell his s3. :(

This is the 3rd person ive known in 3 days to be really ill. 😢
Bad news always comes in threes my mum told me so must be right😮😮 but sorry to hear this

W is in charge of the washing machine. She only let me near it when she was stuck in bed or on the sofa with her bust ankle. So I have no idea.
She has just insisted that she always leaves it open, with an edge to her voice!
But the thing that holds the detergent drawer and the main pipe off it, which has a u-bend in it. were quite manky. Fortunately it all came out and apart without too much bovva.
The U-bend I think is a snare and a delusion. Cos water sits in it all the time. Above the u-bend drum side it was clean except for a slight limescale greyness, but drawer-housing side was pretty rank.
T'internet says "Clean the drawer and the doorseal" which is all we have ever done. But until now we have never used washing machine cleaner, i.e. the liquid you can shove through it. Nor have we cleaned the drawer-housing. I think we'll be using this stuff from now on!
The machine in France only ever got used during the 5 week summer holiday for years, with extremely soft water. Only started being used normally since 2015, for 6 months a year. Which might account for tjhe lack of problems with it. Plus it is a bit younger.

Do you peeps use dishwasher cleaner too? We don't seem to need it. We have used it but it didn't seam to make any difference. Things were coming out clean and there was no smell anyway.

Every day is a school day.
We use the dishwasher cleaner not for the m/c but for the underground pipes keeps them clear of a fat build up

Got on with me Land Rover jobs today. Three of the four screws which hold the rear light guard on were still in the bodywork but one was missing. Couldn't find a coarse threaded self tapper in the right size to replace it, so drilled the hole a bit bigger and put a rivnut in, with a new screw to suit the job. Then got the light guard out of the loft where it has been for several years - the missing self tapper was still on it. New serpentine belt and idler pulley fitted. New wiper put on the rear door - with a bit of spray grease squirted on the spindle. And gave all the tyres - including the spare - their annual pressure adjustments. Oh - and gave the bodywork a wash - to a basic standard (no wax was wasted for this task).
