Morning All. :D
Son came home from London last night and reported that the sewerage smell is back. :(
Told him to contact the Sewage folks on their service number. They have had a blockage & overspill in the locality and I bet their sewers are backed up. :( Apparently a Tech will visit him asap.
Not a bad day here (not raining at least). :)
Today is our "free" day (except for Kid collection/delivery after school) :D
Have a great day!:vb-agree:

Well I'm back after a week Ireland, beautiful weather all week and did over 1100 miles in the camper van.
First trip after altering the interior and it doesn't work very well so going to move things around and put overhead cupboards in.
It's a pain kneeling down to get tea bags/ cups from under sink.
Never ran out of battery due to large solar panel and had toaster and her hair straighteners/dryer going in mornings.
Got water leak when under pressure where hoses connect at back (hoselocks) so going to rethink the piping.
Roof rack was a bonus but tele in a bad place, keep smashing my head on it.
Need stowage for hose pipe and electric hook up lead so working on that.
Going to have a quiet day to myself today :)

Many of your pension records are already shredded and long gone ...
I'm surprised how much documentation is simply lost or left behind when the officials in question move offices. It's not even accorded the dignity of shredding. Some years ago the large All Saints psychiatric hospital in Birmingham was left standing empty for a while. A friend of mine whom I knew through my community arts activities found his way into the site and discovered large numbers of old paper based patient records, some of which he took home and used as a collage in his art projects. He was also fascinated by the code numbers used - apparently a code 16 meant the patient had died, but there were many others. He was even trying to trace some of the patients to see if they were still alive, and interview them. He seemed to be completely untroubled by data protection legislation, and as far as I'm aware, never got into trouble for it. Since then, the majority of the hospital buildings have been demolished and the site used to extend Winson Green Prison next door, and a housing estate now fills what used to be the hospital grounds. But for a few years the records of the lowest points of patients' lives were left in rusty filing cabinets in dilapidated offices or blowing around the site.

Afternoon folks:).

Well rain and drizzle has mainly stopped play today:(.

We were all geared up to pick up Ms friend today only to relise that the wrong date had gone into the calendar, after I checked the time yesterday and said are you sure 03:00 is correcto_O as I was being told its 3pm so we could go to the port to eat after pickup:).
Anyway it turns out its tomorrow at 3pm:).

Took the battery off the Merc and put it on charge. You know when you lift the bonnet on a Merc and it lifts up a big center lump on the front so its not a normal straight line lower bonnet line? Well you can give your eyebrow a pretty good whack on, it trust me:oops:.

My goodness me, gear oil has gone up a lot lately. I was just doing a little topping up and realised I'd run out of EP90 or 75w90. I got a little dribble out of a couple of 'empty' containers in the shed, sufficient to fill me up to filler plug level, but on checking the stock in a Halfords I passed just now, it was silly money, and on getting home it's pretty dear on Ebay and Amazon too. The best I seem to be able to do is £23.99 for 5 litres. When I was a tender youth oil didn't cost much, so it was usually worth changing it. Now it's something I have to seriously think about.

Maybe, with oil at that price, I should consider taking my leaky transfer box off and doing a bit of mending. The output shaft seals are fine, but I seem to be getting a weep from the intermediate shaft and you've got to take the box off to get that out. Once it's off, maybe I should think about gears and bearings. I see Ashcrofts do a whole range of cogs to provide a cornucopia of different ratios https://ashcroft-transmissions.co.uk/product-category/lt230-ratio-changes/. I think a 1.22 might be a bit high for me, as I already have the high top gear R380, but maybe I could try a 1.301. Maybe a little job for later in the summer.

W has just put my pocket money up since I got my pension increase.
I'll try not to spend it all at once.;)

aha!
"wear your scar with pride"

Our neighbour, the new one who has more Landies than you could shake a stick at, has now sold the very recently bought Disco 2 to finance a new chassis for another "Def" as they call em over here.
He has also just bought a 110 V8 in the UK and is facing the difficulties with registering it over here.
It has had two engine changes, so he'll need a lot of luck if he is going to do it legally. But he is putting it off a few weeks to allow it to become 30 years old at which time he might be able to register it as a "Vehicule de collection"
New bog picked up. Tis now sitting in the hall as dinner is on the way!
Have agood evening folks!!
