Afternoon folks:).

Insurance done on 2 bikes and 1 car I have now spent the last of my allowance:eek:, well apart from my slush fund stash;). £300 for the 3 only 3rd party fire theft. The young girl looked me up and down when I answered how old I was, I reckon she was think phwoor a good looking mature man, she was probably thinking what's an old man doing riding a Ducati:rolleyes:.
Off to the builders merchant for sand, cement and more pipe. Girl on the desk asks about transport (i.e did I want it delivered) I said no thanks, she looks out the window and wonders how I am gonna get it all in + 4m pipes in a 90, she couldn't see the little trailer;). The bloke loading looked at me a bit funny when I got me handsaw out the back and cut the pipes in arf chucked them in the back and off we went:D.

So should have enough now to finish me piles:eek::D.
Been windy but dry and clear batteries full, stuff your elecy bills where the sun don't shine:D.

Right now here's a thing.
This blessed worktop.
I had a random moment and cut the end off my old one wot I is using as a template to see if cutting it at 90 degs instead of the angle it was at would be sort of OK allowing for the thickness of the tiles going over the new one.
Nope it weren't.
If I did it like that the end furthest from the window wall would be rammed tight against the side wall but further in it is now too narrow by quite a margin.
So I want to calculate or "work out" the new angle to cut it at to get just enough of it to clear the tiles when I slide it up against the other end wall, then pull it back in so that some of it is under each set of tiles. The tiles stick out 10mm from each end wall. The other end is more or less straight 90 degs to the window wall.
So I started fiddling about with my big, variable angle, ptotractor thing and couldn't believe the difference even 1/4 of a deg made over the width of the work top, 707mms.
So, (oops) I thought id' sit down with some paper and a pen and do some maffs.
Now you will never believe this but I actually do have a very low grade A level in this. So I thought "I know Sine, cos, tan, I remember that stuff"!!!!

No, I flipping don't!!!
I said to myself, if I measure 707mm along an edge than the degrees at the subtended :)eek:) angle will be 45!
Yep, that is correct!
So then I started to think. "If I measure 353.5 along will the angle be 22.5 degs.?"
Then it flipping dawned on me that I'd have to measure to nearly infinity and beyond to subtend an angle of 89 degs.
so that ain't working.:rolleyes::(
So I switched on the internet and got completely bamboozled in no time at all.
I just do not have a mathematical mind.
So I guess I am just going to have to physically draw it out on summat and copy it across.
I can do SOH CAH TOA but reversing it? With no log tables and no mathematical calculator?
Plus I have forgotten how to reverse it.And what the merty heck is a secant?

I give up.:(:(:(
Give me imperfect subjunctives anytime!

Believe I said you should get your CAD out a while ago:D.
Along with a cheap bit of board

Yeah, you just sketch it out 1:1 scale on model space an hey presto. So Stan, you has an isosceles trapezium yes? The angles the back are the same, as are those at the front(but diffrint) Gimme the width at the back, the width at the front and the depth of the alcove an I can do it if you like

Edit. Just re-read your last, you said one end is square dint you, so is a trapezium. Same offer applies

...I was commanded to do the wallpapering of the feature wall in our bedroom.
It is only a 13ft run of 78" tall from Wainscoting to picture rail. :)
Started at 2PM and I have only 1 full strip and 2 closing strips (ends to do).
Just stopped for a breather and some crisps. Nearly done. :D

Wallpapers a coverup job, pull it all off and paint it:eek::D.
I hung wallpaper once, then (ex now) FIL wanted me to do his stairwell which of course I was badged into doingo_O, never again:).

I did our old house and vowed never to wallpaper again :D This bungalow has good smooth plastered walls which was one of the things that helped sway our decision to buy it!
