Shame about the split spindle. Would need a bit of work to make it clean and shiny.
Some "upcyclers" would paint it, yuk!
Wot is the legs like? But it would end up quite comfortable. You could always upholster the seat wiv a bit of leather and some brass topped tack things.
We had some sort of like that int kitchen, typical country kitchen pine rubbish cheapo thing, but it was at least a carver. A dog chewed most of the way through a stretcher so I took it off and made a new one on me ex-s-i-l's wood lathe. First and last time I used one. It turned out OK considering I did it by eye. :eek:
W has one like your's int loft only it's the sort with a spring in a metal base so you can rock in it at your big posh desk. She got it donkey's years ago, started stripping it and it has stayed like that ever since.:rolleyes:
 
Were we popping things into SLRs then? I know the Merkins were into that size round afore we were, reeely.
