The problem with air vents is the rest of the house. They have to be big, which makes the room cold, because houses have no draught
Houses were better when we had open fires and draughty doors and windows. You didn't get cold air blowing down the chimney, no hole in the side of the room, yet a steady flow of fresh air
I see loads of folk on social media that have asked for advice on blocking up air vents as rooms are hard to heat and energy is expensive. When advised that the air bricks are there to counter, fires, flues and mould peeps don’t listen and still block off the vents
I didn't say efficientYer but your heating the sky, you lose a mega amount of heat in an open fire, our house was mighty
cold for 10 years you could see your breath the house had storage heaters which gave off horrible
dry heat plus they were a fortune to run. Not to forget the blow backs doon the lum & then you need to
open the doors & windows cause ye cant see feck all for the black fog.
Youd be as well painting the walls black.
Who remembers having a "King Rat" across the bottom of the door and a velvet curtain hung over the door? Usually to the sitting room.
(Who remembers "sitting rooms"!?)

Wise move!!!I have it on a table this time.
Must've been a long one!!Think my granny had a saussage dug that stopped the draught
Must've been a long one!!
Boys and their toys!My digger is stuck tonight cause doing a favour to dig a new trench for new water pipes & due to
a stupid leylandii type tree that she didnt want to chop so had to go over a waterlogged boggy field
with a steepish incline..it was slipping down hill trying to go side ways feck this so abandoned that then
nearly got out & got stuck at the last bit before getting back onto solid-ish grass
Its also not letting up with rain The morning shift will be interesting lol
Boys and their toys!
