Oh dear....that I have to go to my son's to help fit a new toilet flush mechanism with an internal overflow.
The existing one has external overflow and when the ball-valve failed it overflowed but the pipe was just not connected to anything (previous house owner) which just ruined the room below it.
Herself wants me back here pronto to pull all the dead leaves off the huge cordyline in the front garden.

No idea, they just fitted a new valve and it never stopped dripping, I said "If it has an overflow...so what?".Oh dear.

Oh, and "Dad, while you are here......" A leaking radiator "nipped up" (because he was afraid to, in case it collapsed the pipe).
Dad's are terrific free resources.
The work should definitely dry up, but not the contact. Dad's can still advise even if they don't "DO".

Don't worry about this. We all take the p!ss out of each other over this and I am one of the older ones! age gives experience and helps when it comes to fixing old skool stuff. (and providing humorous interludes!)

So are sons and daughters when Dad and Mum are in a pinch. Ours made getting though my cancer possible. Our son moved back home to help and our daughter helped financially. Couldn't have made it without their support....mission accomplished.
