There is more than one way of skinning the "how to safely use a generator" cat.
We have thort of several, and the "plug it into a ring main circuit with the fuse removed and switched off at the mains" is just one.
We even have a cool box that would run on a car battery to keep the milk in etc if we don't want to open the fridge door or use a thermos.
We are used to running things at night, washing machine, dishwasher and even heating hot water, as we do it all the time in France where it is cheaper to do so. Many Brits will not be be used to doing this. Thermos flasks, gas barbies, etc etc we can all do it and I remember having to do during the three day week. and the miners strikes, back in the early 70s, some of the time is was in boarding school.
You'll be aware of my having mentioned Tilley lamps, Primus stoves, oil lamps etc. Many of which could be seen as being dangerous too.
I'm afraid I like to treat things like power cuts as a bit of an enjoyable adventure, a problem solving exercise and I am almost looking forward to them.
But I am not a total prat, although I pretend to be sometimes just to get the odd laugh. Sorry but life can be too boring if one doesn't do this from time to time.
So thank you for the reminder of the legal and insurance angles on all this.
:):):)

Oh fer chrissakes gets a torch an a campin cooker an shuddup. :p

Iffit did sink would the insurance be responsible to gerrit oot the water? Wood case polution if left there. If not insured then the owners problem but who wood chase them to gerrit sorted. Sea pilice?

Depends on the policy it would need full cover & its called a peril or somit fire would need to be listed
in the policy. If not insured KHM (Kings harbour master) would be involved as its in the shipping lane
of the gareloch. Thousands of sovs to get a boat lifted. The last one I was involved in was the Nancy Glen which sank in Loch fine. Very eary to be on it after the chaps perished on it. :( Thats the third one
ive scrapped, I hope I dont get called to do another. None of the lads in the yard would go on it so
muggens here had to sling it & me an my mate towed it in & chopped it up.

Don't worry about this. We all take the p!ss out of each other over this and I am one of the older ones! age gives experience and helps when it comes to fixing old skool stuff. (and providing humorous interludes!)
But we need young'uns to help with new stuff like feckin electronix, which baffle the bollix off me!;)

Yer dont let the baffle oot the box. :D

Moved my clarke temp car port today & ton bags of sand n stone with the machine of course
the a pile of slabs, my mate started to lift them na dont bother I can lift them & stack them with the
digger bucket he says im a show off :D some hedge/tree trimming is imminent, before I start the shuttering.
